Are you excited to be part of our dynamic team that is building the future of mental wellbeing? Get the chance to help shape Mind Oasis by Rituals, a new international omni-channel wellbeing brand within the Rituals group. We use cutting-edge technology to help customers unwind and feel more relaxed, allowing them to enjoy the little moments in life.
This is an exciting time to join the Beauty Tech department at Rituals. With a small group of professionals, we are developing and managing brands like Mind Oasis by Rituals and products such as Perfume Genie. If you are looking for a role that delivers true impact for a brand and product completely new to the world, then this is the role for you!
As the Junior Cloud Architect, your main focus will be within the Mind Oasis by Rituals team. You will be the technical authority for cloud architecture decisions while remaining hands-on in delivery and experimentation. You play a pivotal role in building the foundation of our new IT landscape towards a scalable, structured, and future-proof cloud solution.
We are not searching for just an architect though; we need a multi-disciplinary Cloud expert who can put their vision into action. Think about proactively creating plans according to our roadmap and new opportunities, working closely with other cloud developers and partners, building POCs, and seeing your ideas come to life—all to build the best experience for a new global wellbeing brand.
This role is part of the Beauty Tech department, reporting to the Head of Technology of Beauty Tech. In this role you will:
- Deliver architecture roadmaps and evaluate new technologies.
- Conduct architecture reviews and coach delivery teams.
- Build your own proof of concepts and further developments.
- Shift between a pragmatic and a future-proof approach, using both existing systems and entirely new developments.
- Collaborate with other Rituals technology departments and third parties to ensure best-in-class delivery.
- Design secure, compliant cloud architectures following the Rituals enterprise and regulatory standards.
- Define and improve CI/CD pipelines, automation and Infrastructure as Code practices.
- Ensure observability, reliability and cost efficiency of our cloud platforms.
Qualifications
You are a highly energetic, people person with a positive attitude and a unique knack for simplifying complex technical ideas and solving puzzles. Agility is key in your life and work and you are not afraid of thinking outside of the box to come up with practical and automated solutions.
You are a seasoned expert with a strong track record in GCP development, IT transformation, architectural governance and leadership in complex environments. Your deep understanding of cloud, data, application and technology domains – and your ability to put the plans into action – will help elevate our growth.
Qualifications:
- 5+ years of relevant working experience in cloud- or solution engineering roles - stepping into an Architect role more and more.
- Strong hands-on experience with cloud-native and backend development (e.g. Node.js, API design, SQL) and Infrastructure as Code (Terraform), with deep specialization in Google Cloud Platform.
- Proven experience designing and implementing secure, scalable, highly available and cost-efficient cloud architectures in multi-region and multi-environment setups.
- Experience with CI/CD pipelines, automation and modern DevOps practices, ensuring reliable and repeatable delivery from development to production.
- Hands-on experience with Google Cloud services such as Compute Engine, Cloud Run and App Engine. Experience with containerized or event-driven architectures (e.g. GKE, Pub/Sub) is a strong plus.
- Solid understanding of cloud security and compliance principles, including IAM, secure networking, data protection, privacy-by-design principles, and alignment with enterprise and regulatory requirements (e.g. GDPR).
- Experience designing and operating cloud platforms with a focus on observability, reliability and resilience, including monitoring, logging and incident awareness.
- Strong communication skills with proven experience working with stakeholders and multidisciplinary teams to successfully design, implement and evolve cloud solutions.
- Understanding of networking; using shared VPCs, subnets, load balancing, Cloud DNS and hybrid connectivity.
You thrive in an open, fast-paced environment, embrace change and enjoy balancing pragmatic delivery with long-term architectural vision
Location and working conditions
While an 80/20 office/ home working flexibility is available, this role requires a strong on-site presence to engage with stakeholders and build connections effectively. This position is based in Amsterdam at the Rituals Central Head Office.
