Window Nation is seeking a highly dependable Junior Systems Engineer to support critical infrastructure across 50+ branch locations. This role is primarily responsible for Network and printer operations, ensuring maximum uptime, and will also manage ISP related tasks. The candidate will work closely with branch managers to resolve issues, coordinate vendor support, and keep all markets operational. Key duties include maintaining infrastructure stability, collaborating with different teams and vendors, and defining system requirements per site.
This role requires occasional travel, after-hours work on weekends, and if necessary, during major holidays to support business-critical operations.
Core Responsibilities
Deploy and maintain Meraki network appliances (switches\routers\access points). Troubleshoot LAN/WAN/VLAN/DHCP/DNS issues and manage ISPs for all markets. Own end-to-end management of 50+ enterprise printers (Xerox or equivalent). Configure printers for network connectivity, authentication, SNMP monitoring, SMTP/email scanning, and print/scan workflows. Standardize settings across all locations for consistency. Order new printers, replacement parts, and consumables (toner, drums, cartridges) to ensure uninterrupted operations. Maintain accurate inventory records. Test new printer deployments and updates to verify proper functionality before handing off to end users. Conduct post-installation checks for performance and reliability. Maintain detailed documentation of printer configurations, network settings, and issue resolution steps. Update standard operating procedures to improve operational efficiency. Provide guidance\training to branch staff on network connectivity, printer usage, troubleshooting basic errors, and reporting issues. Track network and printer uptime, usage trends, and recurring issues. Report on metrics to management and recommend improvements. Rapidly respond to critical network outages affecting branch operations, including off-hours or holidays if necessary. Act as the primary technical contact for branch managers, communicate clearly during outages, and provide guidance on troubleshooting. Maintain documentation, follow SOPs, and identify opportunities for process improvement or automation.
Travel and Work Schedule
Occasional travel (20–30%), including new office deployments, critical site issues, or high-impact outages. After-hours (outside of normal 9-5 business hours), weekends, and major holiday support may be required to ensure business continuity.
Required Skills & Qualifications
Networking fundamentals (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VLANs, NAT) and Meraki or equivalent experience. 3 plus years of experience managing enterprise printers (Xerox, Canon, HP preferred) with a strong focus on up-time. Experience with ISPs, vendors, and multi-site coordination. Excellent communication skills and ability to collaborate with non-technical branch managers. Strong documentation habits, problem-solving skills, and sense of ownership.
Desired Skills and Certifications:
Scripting or automation experience (PowerShell preferred) Experience with distributed retail or branch environments Prior involvement in new site or market launches CompTIA A+ and Network + or CCNA
Education
Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, Network Engineering, or related field preferred. Equivalent hands-on experience managing multi-site infrastructure and enterprise printer operations will also be considered. '
