Location: Los Angeles
The Los Angeles office of Barnes & Thornburg LLP is seeking a Korean-speaking Labor and Employment Staff Attorney to support its growing practice. This role is ideal for an attorney interested in developing practical experience in employment litigation support and day-to-day advice and counseling matters, with a particular focus on serving Korean-speaking clients.
Job Responsibilities:
Support attorneys in representing employers in employment-related disputes, with a focus on high-volume litigation support
Manage and execute discovery, including drafting and responding to document requests, interrogatories, and subpoenas
Conduct legal research and prepare memoranda, pleadings, and motion drafts
Assist with case management, fact development, and document review
Support employment advice and counseling matters, including providing day-to-day HR guidance to clients
Draft, review, and update employee handbooks, policies, and workplace documents
Translate and adapt employment policies and legal materials for Korean-speaking clients, ensuring compliance with U.S. and California law
Communicate directly with Korean-speaking clients on employment-related matters
Collaborate with attorneys and team members across offices
Required Qualifications:
Fluency in Korean required (reading, writing, and speaking)
2+ years of experience in labor and employment or general litigation (law firm experience preferred)
Demonstrated experience or strong interest in employment advice and counseling and/or employee handbook drafting
Strong experience with litigation support, particularly discovery and written work product
Excellent legal writing, research, and analytical skills
Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple assignments efficiently
Admission to the California Bar
Ideal Candidates Will:
