Worldwide Professional Solutions is seeking a highly skilled, experienced, and motivated Korean Translator/Project Coordinator to join our growing team in the Peoria, Arizona area near North Phoenix for a large-scale manufacturing construction project.
As a Korean translator, your main job is to help everyone work together smoothly. You'll talk with our Korean-speaking project stakeholders and make sure their needs are understood by our cross-functional team. You'll also keep an eye on business requirements, project schedules, make plans, and make sure things are done on time. The candidate for this position must be a pro-active and self-motivated individual with the ability to work in teams and in a highly dynamic environment with multiple stakeholders and timelines.
The ideal candidate would have experience in construction, engineering of high-tech manufacturing facilities or a background in construction or engineering.
Duties & Responsibilities
Translate documents related to construction management. Including technical documents, drawings, design documents, and communications.Handling and translation of specialized documents such as construction contracts, specifications, building permits, and safety manualsEnsure that specific terms, like construction codes or regulatory terms, are consistently translated across all materials.Implement a quality assurance (QA) process to ensure translations are contextually and technically correctProvide simultaneous interpretation at business meetings, and other events.Assist with administrative duties such as report processing, award issuance, and record keeping.Support other divisions and departments with their language needs.Provide cultural expertiseConduct tours for non-English-speaking visitors.Perform other responsibilities as assigned.Maintain translation database by using translation management softwareProvide quality assurance for the translation processWork with a wide range of media and translation softwareResolve issues associated with translation, localization, and cultureEngage with other departments to provide translation servicesImplement feedback and changes whenever possible
Requirements
Bachelor's degree in communications or linguistics preferred or equivalent combination of education and experienceThe ideal candidate would have experience in construction, engineering of high-tech manufacturing facilities or a background in construction or engineering.Minimum five years’ experience in the translation fieldFamiliarity with technical jargon and terminology used in construction managementFamiliarity with the history, culture, and traditions of the Korean language regionNative fluency in Korean highly preferredExperience with stakeholder engagement and project managementTranslation Certifications highly preferred (ATA, NAATI, etc.)Familiarity with both the cultural and professional contexts of both Korea and English-speaking countries (e.g., the U.S., Canada, UK) preferredProficiency in translation tools and software such as Déjà Vu, memoQ, Wordfast, and TradosKnowledge of the translation process, terminology, and localization techniquesFamiliarity with localization guidelines and standardsAbility to convert written materials into a second languageExcellent translation, writing, and communication skillsFluency in English and KoreanAbility to work under tight deadlinesProficiency in MS Office Suite
