This is a senior backend engineering role for an experienced professional who enjoys building scalable, high-performance systems while leading from the front. The position focuses on designing and delivering robust backend solutions using Node.js and TypeScript, with a strong emphasis on system architecture, cloud-native development, and technical leadership. Based in Mumbai, this full-time role offers the opportunity to work closely with business stakeholders, product teams, and engineers to translate complex requirements into reliable, long-term technical solutions. You will play a key role across the entire software development lifecycle, from design and estimation to production support and continuous improvement.

Requirements

Key Responsibilities

• Lead backend development initiatives using Node.js and TypeScript, delivering scalable and maintainable solutions
• Drive system analysis, architecture design, and technical planning aligned with business and enterprise architecture standards
• Facilitate requirement gathering and convert complex business needs into clear technical specifications
• Lead design discussions, estimations, and technical decision-making with cross-functional stakeholders
• Define and enforce best practices for coding, testing, debugging, and implementation
• Oversee API development, microservices architecture, database design, and cloud integrations
• Ensure high-quality technical documentation across projects and systems
• Identify technical risks early in the SDLC and propose effective mitigation strategies
• Provide leadership for production support, including root-cause analysis, performance tuning, and reliability improvements
• Lead post-incident reviews, improve observability, and enhance scalability and system resilience
• Mentor mid-level engineers and junior developers, fostering strong engineering standards and growth
• Collaborate closely with operations and business teams to ensure smooth deployments and ongoing system stability

What Makes You a Great Fit

• 8+ years of experience in backend engineering with deep expertise in Node.js and TypeScript
• Strong experience designing and building RESTful APIs and microservices-based systems
• Hands-on experience with relational databases such as PostgreSQL
• Experience building and deploying solutions on cloud platforms, preferably Azure
• Solid understanding of modern software architecture patterns and system design principles
• Proven ability to lead projects, manage technical priorities, and deliver outcomes in dynamic environments
• Strong unit testing practices and commitment to high-quality, production-ready code
• Natural technical leader with a passion for mentoring, coaching, and knowledge sharing
