Cooperidge Consulting Firm is seeking a Sr. Process/Project Engineer for a top Process Manufacturing leader in Greenville, NC.

This role serves as a technical pillar for manufacturing operations, responsible for process monitoring, complex troubleshooting, and the execution of high-impact continuous improvement initiatives. The Sr. Engineer will bridge the gap between theoretical design and operational reality, ensuring production is safe, efficient, and of the highest quality. This is an ideal opportunity for a detail-oriented engineer with deep roots in process industries like chemicals or fibers to drive operational excellence in a state-of-the-art facility.

Job Responsibilities

  • Process Optimization: Monitor real-time production data to identify trends, variances, and opportunities for efficiency gains or cost reduction.
  • Technical Troubleshooting: Diagnose root causes of process upsets and implement corrective actions to minimize downtime and waste.
  • Engineering Design: Lead the design and sizing of process equipment, ensuring all calculations for mass balance and heat transfer are precise and compliant.
  • Project Management: Direct process improvement projects from inception through production trials and final implementation.
  • Safety & Compliance: Review and approve Management of Change (MOC) documentation, operating procedures, and Process Hazard Analyses (PHA).
  • Quality Assurance: Support detailed quality investigations and provide technical guidance to resolve product quality variances.
  • Technical Mentorship: Develop and deliver training for production staff on revised procedures and new process technologies.

Requirements

Education

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Chemical, Mechanical, or related) is REQUIRED.

Experience

  • Minimum of seven (7) or more years of experience as a Process or Project Engineer is REQUIRED.
  • Proven background in process industries such as Chemicals, Fibers, or Petrochemicals.
  • Demonstrated success in leading process improvement projects and managing production trials.

Technical Skills

  • Core Fundamentals: Solid expertise in equipment sizing, mass balance calculations, and heat transfer analysis.
  • Analytical: Strong root-cause analysis and technical problem-solving skills.
  • Compliance: Deep understanding of safety, health, and environmental (SHE) policies within a manufacturing environment.
  • Legal: Must be able to work in the U.S. without sponsorship.
