Cooperidge Consulting Firm is seeking a Project Manager – Structural Steel Construction for a premier steel fabrication and erection leader in North Phoenix, AZ.

This role owns the full project lifecycle—from design and fabrication through field erection and final close-out—on some of the most high-profile structural projects in the region. The Project Manager is responsible for driving multidisciplinary teams to deliver complex steel structures safely, on schedule, and within budget. This is a high-impact position for a decisive leader who excels at navigating the technical nuances of AISC/AWS standards while maintaining elite client relationships.

Job Responsibilities

  • End-to-End Leadership: Direct the delivery of structural steel projects, seamlessly coordinating activities between the design team, fabrication shop, and field erectors.
  • Financial Stewardship: Track all project costs, forecast financial performance, and proactively identify risk-mitigation and cost-saving opportunities.
  • Schedule Management: Develop and manage rigorous project schedules and resource plans using Procore, MS Project, or Primavera.
  • Stakeholder Liaison: Serve as the primary point of contact for clients, architects, and engineers to resolve design discrepancies or field execution challenges quickly.
  • Safety & Quality Enforcement: Enforce rigorous OSHA safety standards and AISC/AWS quality control protocols across all fabrication and jobsite activities.
  • Subcontractor Management: Lead and hold accountable diverse teams of subcontractors and vendors, ensuring strict contract compliance and workmanship quality.
  • Risk Mitigation: Identify potential bottlenecks in logistics or fabrication early; lead solutions for scope changes and unforeseen challenges with minimal disruption.

Requirements

Education & Certifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil/Structural Engineering or Construction Management is preferred.
  • OSHA 30-Hour Construction certification is highly preferred.
  • PMP, LEED AP, or similar professional certifications are a significant plus.

Experience

  • Minimum of eight (8) to ten (10) or more years of project management experience specifically in Structural Steel is REQUIRED.
  • Proven success managing large-scale, complex steel projects from design through final erection.
  • Deep technical knowledge of AISC, AWS, and ASTM standards and fabrication methods.

Skills

  • Leadership: Strong negotiation and decisive leadership skills in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
  • Project Tools: High proficiency in Procore, MS Project, or Primavera.
  • Financials: Solid command of budgeting, cost control, and financial reporting for large-scale construction.
