Job description
Key Responsibilities:
Component Development & Library Ownership
- Partner with UX designers to bring design concepts to life through reusable, responsive components.
- Gather requirements and feedback from Product Managers, UI/UX teams, and developers to ensure alignment and usability.
- Promote adoption of the UI component library across teams by spreading excitement, conducting demos, and showcasing best practices.
- Influence and inspire other developers to embrace accessibility and design consistency.
Accessibility & Standards Compliance
- Build and maintain a centralized UI component library that supports scalability and design consistency.
- Document components and usage guidelines for internal teams.
- Ensure components are well-documented, tested, and easy to integrate across projects.
- Continuously improve the library based on feedback and evolving design standards.
Accessibility & Standards Compliance
- Implement and advocate for WCAG 2.2 AA/AAA accessibility standards.
- Ensure all components and interfaces are inclusive, keyboard-navigable, screen-reader friendly, and meet WCAG design principles.
- Conduct accessibility audits and integrate feedback into development cycles.
Technical Execution
- Develop high-performance, responsive applications using React.js, TypeScript, HTML5, and CSS3.
- Optimise applications for mobile platforms and collaborate with teams working on Flutter to ensure design consistency.
- Stay updated with frontend trends and emerging technologies.
Teamwork & Communication
- Be a proactive team player who contributes to a collaborative and inclusive work environment.
- Communicate effectively across teams and stakeholders.
- Mentor junior developers and participate in code reviews to uphold quality standards.
Qualifications
Qualifications
- 8+ years of experience in frontend development with a focus on React.js
- Strong understanding of accessibility standards and WCAG 2.2 AA/AAA compliance.
- Experience building and maintaining design systems or component libraries.
- Familiarity with mobile-first design and Flutter integration
- Proficiency in TypeScript, HTML, CSS, and modern frontend tooling.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
