We are Teleport, a rapidly growing logistics solutions provider on a mission to transform the industry. Our Legal Team is looking for a Legal Counsel II  who will be a key player in driving strategic sourcing, supplier negotiations, and overall procurement excellence. If you want to be part of an ambitious team shaping the future, this is the opportunity for you.

Why Join Us?

As a start up, you can expect your days to be pretty varied. Multitasking is normal, and sometimes, your skills or natural talents will be leveraged to support other business priorities.

Your Role: Key Accountabilities

Special Projects & Supporting General Counsel - Support the General Counsel on special projects, cross-functional initiatives, and IPO readiness activities, acting as a reliable team member to drive execution and outcomes.

Intellectual Property Management - Support the management of the Group’s intellectual property, including trademarks, software, and IP-related commercial agreements. Assist with IP mapping and ownership verification to support IPO readiness and due diligence processes.

End-to-End Legal Support for BAU Operations (MY, SG and/or ID)

Provide day-to-day legal support for business operations across Malaysia, Singapore, and/or Indonesia, including drafting and reviewing standard commercial contracts, supporting operational matters, and assisting with regulatory and compliance requirements to ensure business continuity.

Drafting, Review, Research & Negotiation of Agreements - Draft, review, and support negotiations of a range of legal documentation, including commercial and operational contracts, using approved templates, and identifying non-standard issues for escalation where appropriate.

Legal Advisory & Stakeholder Support - Provide practical legal support to business teams on operational, regulatory, compliance, licensing, dispute, and corporate matters. Work closely with internal stakeholders and external counsel to support timely and commercially aligned outcomes.

Governance, Risk & Compliance Support - Support internal governance processes, including preparation and review of board materials, related-party transaction documentation, contract approval workflows, and legal checklists. Track regulatory developments and support impact assessments and mitigation actions.

Assist in preparing legal updates, guidance notes, and training materials to improve legal awareness across the organisation

Requirements

  • Law degree from a recognized institution and called to the Bar (Malaysia, Singapore, or Indonesia or any equivalent common law jurisdiction).
  • 5 - 7  years of post-qualification experience, with at least 3 years in private practice, preferably with exposure to logistics, M&A, corporate transactions, and/or intellectual property matters.
  • Prior exposure to IPO preparation, fundraising, regulatory engagement, or large-scale corporate projects will be an advantage.
  • Strong transactional and commercial legal experience, including drafting, reviewing, and negotiating complex agreements in a cross-border or multi-jurisdictional setting.
  • Demonstrated ability to thrive in a dynamic, high-growth environment, with comfort operating in ambiguity and managing competing priorities.
  • Self-starter with a strong ownership mindset, able to work independently, initiate projects, and drive matters to completion with minimal supervision.
  • Proven stakeholder management skills, with the ability to build trust and credibility with senior leaders, business teams, and external advisors across multiple geographies.
  • Experience handling fast-moving and high-pressure issues, with sound judgment and the ability to respond pragmatically and decisively.

Who Should Not Apply?

  • If you’re looking for a comfortable, low-intensity role, this is not it.
  • If you struggle with direct stakeholders, fast decisions, or pressure, you will find this challenging.
  • If you need a perfect structure before you can operate, a startup environment will frustrate you — we are building the structure as we scale.
  • If personal growth, ownership, and accountability are not priorities for you, this role will not be a good fit.
  • If you tend to take feedback or disagreements personally rather than professionally, this environment may feel tough.

At Teleport, we’re all about creating a diverse and inclusive team where everyone feels valued. We believe that different perspectives make us stronger and help us do logistics better across Southeast Asia. We welcome people from all walks of life and celebrate what makes each of us unique. If you’re passionate about making a difference, we’d love to hear from you!
