The Line Producer will be responsible for the business end of the production, working closely with writers, producers, directors and cast. Primary job duties and responsibilities will be to:
• Prepare production schedule and budget
• Produce a provisional budget to show the total amount of funding required
• Help set up the production office
• Coordinate location scouting, sourcing equipment and suppliers
• Hire the production team
• Manage insurance claims
• Ultimately responsible for ensuring the production is completed on time and within budget with financial monitoring systems and by controlling production expenditure and materials.
Qualifications and competencies include:
• Bachelor degree in Finance, Media, Accounting or a related field
• At least 5 years’ experience in scheduling and budgeting
• At least 3 years’ experience in assistant direction, location management and/or in a production office
• In-depth knowledge of filmmaking processes
• Ability to balance creative expectations with financial resources
• Understanding of relevant health and safety laws and procedures
• Industry contacts will be an asset
• Exceptional communication skills
• Diplomacy and negotiation skills
