Linux Engineer - Red Hat Satellite

As a Linux Engineer specializing in Red Hat Satellite at Müller's Solutions, you will play a crucial role in the management and maintenance of our Linux environments, focusing primarily on Red Hat Enterprise Linux systems. Your expertise will help optimize system performance, ensure seamless updates, and enhance overall efficiency through automation and effective management of configurations. You will work closely with development and operations teams to implement best practices and drive innovations in our infrastructure, ensuring security, scalability, and high availability.

Key Responsibilities:

• Deploy, manage, and maintain Red Hat Satellite instances for systems provisioning, configuration management, patching and monitoring.
• Automate repetitive tasks using scripting languages such as Bash or Python to enhance operational efficiency.
• Monitor system performance, perform routine upgrades, and troubleshoot issues related to RHEL systems.
• Implement and enforce best practices for security and compliance within Linux environments.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify opportunities for process improvements and automation.
• Document system configurations, procedures, and changes for future reference.
• Provide technical support and troubleshooting for Linux servers and related applications.
• Assist in the planning and execution of system upgrades, migrations, and new deployments.

Requirements

Requirements:

• Degree: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related discipline.
• Experience: 4-6 years of experience in Linux System Administration, specifically with Red Hat Enterprise Linux.
• Technical Skills: Proficiency in Red Hat Satellite for systems management, configuration, and automation. Strong knowledge of RHEL (versions 7, 8) including installation, configuration, and maintenance. Experience with scripting (Bash, Python) for automation purposes.
• Additional Skills: Familiarity with containerization technologies (Docker, Kubernetes) and cloud platforms (AWS, Azure). Knowledge of configuration management tools (e.g., Ansible, Puppet) is a plus.
• Analytical Skills: Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to troubleshoot complex issues in a timely manner.
• Collaboration Skills: Excellent communication skills for working with technical teams and presenting findings to stakeholders.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Certifications such as Red Hat Certified Engineer (RHCE) or Red Hat Certified Specialist in Satellite Management are highly regarded.
