Pay Range: $81,450 to $101,825 per year.
Supervise maintenance functions in Processing, Packaging and Rotisserie room. Plan and direct preventive maintenance and maintenance repair/overall actions in the above areas.
Direct and supervise shift maintenance for Processing, Packaging and Rotisserie departments. Specifically:
- Prepare work schedules and mechanic duty assignments as required to support the preventive maintenance program requirements of Production and USDA inspection personnel.
- Perform frequent on-the-job inspections to ensure: safe working habits, safe work areas, high-quality workmanship and effectiveness of maintenance/repairs.
- Evaluate, prioritize and schedule maintenance repair requests to ensure timely completion of all repair actions.
- Routinely inspect assigned equipment for needed repairs/maintenance. Prepare maintenance repair requests as required.
- Provide technical assistance to company personnel performing duties in the following areas: proper operation of equipment, proper use of maintenance manuals/schematics, efficient troubleshooting and proper maintenance/repair of assigned equipment.
Monitor and keep current all required maintenance records.
Responsible for a continuous employee training program (as directed by the Maintenance Department Supervisor), especially for newly assigned personnel; and to increase the effectiveness of experienced personnel. Specifically:
- Develop on-the-job training programs for new personnel.
- Evaluate and document training records.
- Develop employee training requirements for new equipment.
Conduct an aggressive, continual, and on-going safety program to include: inspection, instruction, prevention and documentation.
Provide the Maintenance Department Supervisor (on an ongoing basis) with a written list of materials and replacement parts needed. Specifically:
- Initiate purchase requisitions.
- Initiate Material Request Cards for spare stock in Maintenance Inventory Control.
- Recommend needed special tools as required.
- Provide information on current/potential spares shortages or zero balances.
Qualifications
- Must possess a minimum of eight (8) years maintenance experience in poultry or related industrial areas. This will include a minimum of four (4) years experience with emphasis on following:
- Exhibit good leadership skills.
- Demonstrate good interpersonal communications skills.
- Show expertise in working with mechanical poultry processing machinery.
- Able to function well under pressure.
- Must be able to work with minimal supervision.
- Must possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
- Must be a trained First Responder – Level A suit qualified.
- Must be a trained Haz-Mat responder at 40-hour level.
- Must be certified in Confined Space training.
- Must be current on CPR/First Aid certification.
- Must be trained in lock-out tag-out and safe work practices.
- Must be able to bend, stoop walk and stand for prolonged periods of time.
- Must be able to climb and work from ladders and in confined spaces safely.
- Must be able to work from high altitudes, catwalks and roofs.
- Must be able to lift over 50 pounds.
- Must be able to work on wet concrete floors.
- Must be able to work overtime, weekends and times dictated by production equipment requirements/needs.
- Must be able to submit and pass a criminal background check.
