Manager, Portfolio Operations (Bilingual)
Headquartered in Toronto, the Canada Infrastructure Bank (CIB) is responsible for investing in new infrastructure projects. The CIB’s mission is to work with provincial, territorial, municipal, federal, Indigenous and private sector investor partners to transform the way infrastructure is planned, financed and delivered in Canada.
The Manager, Portfolio Operations, is responsible for managing the performance of an operations team and maintaining strong client relationships. This role oversees daily operations to ensure service level agreements are met and quality standards are upheld across a portfolio primarily composed of debt instruments.
Your responsibilities include:
- Oversee transaction processing and maintenance of investment records throughout the asset lifecycle
- Ensure completeness and accuracy of supporting documentation for all transactions and amendments
- Manage and validate the capturing of key data elements, including terms, covenants and reporting obligations from credit agreements
- Monitor compliance with financial and operational covenants, escalating exceptions and coordinating with internal stakeholders to ensure timely resolution
- Oversee collateral management activities, including custody of original documents, management of renewals and releases, as well as ongoing monitoring of collateral coverage and insurance compliance
- Oversee the preparation and review of recurring portfolio reports, reconciliations and covenant monitoring dashboards to support internal and external reporting requirements
- Develop and maintain automated reporting tools and dashboards using Power BI or other business intelligence platforms to provide actionable insights into portfolio performance and operational efficiency
- Maintain oversight of active blocked accounts, ensuring account controls and access restrictions remain compliant
- Update and maintain process documentation for critical business processes, ensuring consistency and audit readiness
- Drive operational excellence by developing and enhancing internal controls, monitoring procedures and automation solutions for periodic processes
- Lead root cause analyses to identify operational risks or recurring issues and implement preventive controls
- Champion a culture of continuous improvement by identifying workflow inefficiencies and recommending technology-enabled solutions
- Perform reviews of transaction setups, credit agreements and other key deliverables to ensure operational accuracy and data integrity
Your ideal profile:
- Undergraduate or Master’s degree in finance, commerce, accounting or related discipline
- Professional designations such as CPA and CFA are considered an asset
- 5+ years of relevant experience in finance, consulting, private credit, fund administration, or accounting
- Demonstrated experience in loan operations, documentation review and investment accounting
- Strong understanding of credit agreements, covenants and reporting frameworks in private debt or project finance
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and business intelligence tools (e.g., Power BI, Excel-based analytics, Charles River for Private Markets) with the ability to translate complex data into meaningful reporting insights
- Excellent attention to detail, organizational skills and ability to manage competing priorities
- Strong written and verbal communication skills with a client-focused mindset
- Bilingualism (French and English) is highly desirable
