We are seeking, for our client, an experienced Marine Superintendent to support drilling, marine operations and offshore logistics for its activities in Suriname.
The role involves the supervision of marine operations, rig moves, anchor handling activities, vessel inspections, and coordination with multiple contractors and third-party stakeholders. You will ensure safe, compliant, and efficient marine operations in line with international standards and project requirements.
🎯 Key Responsibilities
Marine Operations Supervision
- You perform pre-hire inspections of drilling rigs, PSVs and AHTS vessels, issue action plans, and follow up on corrective measures.
- You plan, prepare, and coordinate all marine operations, including mooring studies, soil pre-tests, anchor deployment sequences, and field approach procedures.
- You review and approve mooring arrangements, BP requirements, convoy approaches, rig move procedures, and all supporting documentation.
Operational Coordination
- You act as the focal point for all marine-related matters, working closely with contractors, marine warranty surveyors, and internal technical entities.
- You ensure that all marine operations are executed safely, in compliance with project objectives, operational requirements, local regulations, and international standards.
- You manage the review of planning inputs, JRA documents, task plans and ensure timely communication with all stakeholders.
Technical Oversight
- You provide expert advice on marine technical issues such as semi-mooring, rig moves, anchor handling, and field operations.
- You oversee vessel certification, crew qualifications, and compliance with authorization requirements.
- You conduct pre-rig-move inspections onboard AHTS vessels, verifying winches, towing gear, thrusters, safety equipment and certifications.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Nautical Studies and/or Marine Engineering
- Unlimited Master Mariner or Chief Engineer license
- 10 years experience in deep water operation
- 5 years experience in shallow water operation
- DW and Shallow Rig move experience
- Experience of vessel inspection and audit
- Accredited OVID inspector
- ROV Operation experience
- Fully compliant with offshore medical and training requirements (e.g., BOSIET / STCW)
