Role: Marketing Video Editor / Content & Ads Editor

Monthly Rate: $750

Availability: Part-time 20 hours/week

Time Zone: Flexible hours, with ~1 hour of overlap during morning (Utah time)

What to Prepare:

2️⃣ Coconut VA Profile (Resume) – Before submitting your application, please create your Coconut VA profile using this template: Coconut VA Profile Template. ⚠️⚠️⚠️ YOUR RESUME MUST FOLLOW THIS FORMAT AND SHOULD BE IN ENGLISH. This is a test of how keen you are with details and how well you follow instructions. ⚠️⚠️⚠️

3️⃣ 1-Minute Introduction Video – Record a short introduction video (preferably using Loom) and provide the link in your application. Before you do, check out these video tips and sample videos. Important: By submitting your video, you grant Coconut permission to share it on our platforms to help increase your chances of being matched with a client. Videos with broken or dummy links will result in disqualification.

Requirements

Experience Needed/Responsibilities:

-Edit large volume of client content into ad ready videos, mainly from iPhone shot or phone shot content

-Create and test multiple hooks/variants for TikTok and other short form ads, including basic ad “storyline” cutting (start point, hook, removing dead space, etc.)

-Handle or support posting workflows for TikTok and other short form platforms where needed

-Edit shortform clips from longer 10+ minute videos (repurposing long-form into multiple vertical/short form pieces) for different kinds of businesses

-Edit 8 to 9 episodes of his adventure podcast (long form podcast editing), including cutting, cleaning up, and preparing full video episodes

-Add captions, simple headlines, and basic on screen text/graphics to increase retention and clarity

-Use creative judgment to choose best moments, hooks, and cuts that match his strategy (organic first, then turn winners into ads)

-Make proactive suggestions and pitch ideas for improving content and ad performance when possible

-Potentially help set up a simple content/project tracking system (e.g., Trello/Asana/Airtable) to organize tasks and status

Good to have:

-Can handle both short form ads/content and long form podcast editing (not strictly required but ideal)

-Strong eye for what makes content perform organically (hooks, pacing, retention, social native feel)

-Comfortable suggesting creative ideas, new edit angles, or tests rather than only following instructions

-Experience working with US based clients and async communication (Loom, voice notes, messaging)

-Able to set up and maintain a simple project/task management system for content pipeline

Non-negotiable Requirements:

-Strong video editing skills with ability to “do the job” independently (experience over theory)

-Comfortable with Adobe Premiere Pro for long form/podcast style editing

-Comfortable with mobile/CapCut style workflows for shortform/organic content or willing to adapt to his current tools and style

-Ability to work with an “organic first, then boost as ads” content strategy and understand that lens when editing

Industry/Tools Experience:

-Adobe Premiere Pro for podcast and longer form editing

-CapCut Pro (mobile) for most organic/short form content

Cloud storage: open to Google Drive, Dropbox, etc. (wants guidance on best way to transfer and manage large files)
