Medical Assistant (CCMA, CMA, RMA)
Are you a Medical Assistant seeking an exciting position in an outpatient practice? We are looking for you! Advanced Dermatology is currently hiring CCMA’s, CMA’s and RMA’s to work full-time or part-time shifts ranging from 16 to 40 hours per week. Job shifts are typically 8-9 hours per day with office hours from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.*, and time off for lunch.
The Medical Assistant will function as a member of the patient care team. Typically, Medical Assistants will be responsible for assisting the physician in taking vital signs, obtaining chief complaints and medical histories while utilizing portable iPads for EMR. The Medical Assistant may also assist with biopsies and select surgical or cosmetic procedures. Other responsibilities include scribing in the electronic medical record system, completing pathology and lab requisition documents, educating patients on treatment plans and medications, along with completing nursing procedures, such as suture removal, dressing changes, allergen patch testing, and more.
Compensation will be dependent on experience and work history.
*At times, shifts may run past 5:00 p.m. but these instances are rare.
Qualifications
Must have:

• Empathetic with patient needs and concerns
• Ability to work well with physicians, mid-levels, and other staff members
• Willingness to learn dermatologic terminology and electronic medical record system
Requirements:
• Private practice and/or dermatology experience a plus but will train
• Must provide a copy of MA certification or registration
• Basic computer skills – Email, Microsoft Word, etc.
• Comfortable using a tablet device like an iPad
• EHR/EMR experience a plus, but will train
PLEASE NOTE: This position may require candidates to work out of satellite office location in Dowagiac and the main Saint Joseph office. Preference may be given to candidates willing to work from all clinic locations, however we will consider all applicants.
