The consultant will be responsible for the day‑to‑day operational management of Windows Server and Citrix environments.
This role is operational (L2), not architectural.
Key aspects of the role
- 80% Windows Server operations
- 20% Citrix operations
- Part of a team of 6 system engineers
The engineer will handle incidents escalated beyond the helpdesk, investigate environment and user issues, and help maintain a highly available and secure infrastructure.
Responsibilities
Operational Support (Level 2)
- Manage daily operations on Windows and Citrix environments.
- Troubleshoot and resolve incidents escalated from first‑line support.
- Investigate complex user or system issues and ensure resolution.
- Maintain availability, reliability, and performance of server infrastructures.
Citrix Environment Management
- Operate and maintain:
Virtual Apps & Desktops, Delivery Controllers, StoreFront, Workspace App, Director, Studio, Profile Management, NetScaler (on‑prem). - Ensure stability and performance in a highly available Citrix landscape.
Windows Server Management
- Operate and support Windows Server 2016–2025 infrastructure.
- Provide in‑depth troubleshooting in collaboration with team members.
General Activities
- Collaborate closely with the server operations team.
- Write process documents and operational procedures.
- Work proactively to prevent issues and ensure environment health.
- Adapt quickly to new tools and environments.
Qualifications
Mandatory Technical Skills
- Operational experience (medior level) in:
- Citrix environments: Virtual Apps & Desktops, StoreFront, NetScaler, Director, Studio, Profile Management.
- Windows Server 2016–2025
- Ability to understand and operate highly available infrastructures.
- Strong understanding of networking and security concepts.
- Languages:
- Native level in either French or Dutch
- Ability to understand/speak French, Dutch, and English
Valuable Additional Skills (Plus)
- Citrix certifications (CCA‑V, CCA‑AppDS)
- Active Directory
- MS Exchange
- MS SCOM / SCCM
- VMware vSphere ESX
- PowerShell (advanced is a strong plus)
- NetApp storage (L1–L2)
- PRTG monitoring
- Anti‑malware solutions (Trend Micro, ScanMail, MailMarshal, TMCM)
- Knowledge of German
