Job Description
Job Title: Operational Technology Specialist
Location: Columbus, Ohio (on-site) (60% -80% travel required)
Supporting: The Defense Logistics Agency (DLA) ** Requires active Secret Security Clearance**
Overview
CompTech is seeking a qualified, cleared, technically flexible & adaptable Operational Technology (OT) Specialist to support technical and inventory-related operations for DLA facilities across multiple locations. This role blends hands-on networking and system troubleshooting (Tier 2.5 - Tier 3) with asset verification and data collection. The position requires strong demonstrated technical skills, effective communication, and the ability to operate independently in a dynamic field environment.
Work Scope
Key responsibilities include:
- Perform packet capture and traffic analysis using tools such as Wireshark
- Access and collect system data using Unix, Linux, and PowerShell
- Navigate network infrastructure (e.g., switches and network layers) to retrieve configurations
- Conduct operational technology asset inventory and data cataloging
- Troubleshoot Tier 2,5 –level network and system issues
- Coordinate site access with installation support teams prior to travel
- Communicate scheduling and access needs (e.g., communications closets) with site personnel
- Escalate access or technical issues through appropriate leadership channels
- Maintain accurate documentation of collected data and findings
Travel Expectations:
- Extensive travel required (approximately 60–80% of the time)
- Assignments typically involve spending up to seven consecutive days at each site
- Frequent transitions between multiple locations
- Candidates must be comfortable with prolonged travel schedules and dynamic work environments
Required Security Clearance, Certification & Experience
- US Citizen
- Secret Security Clearance
- CompTIA Security+
- Experience with Wireshark and packet analysis
- Working knowledge of and experience with Unix and Linux operating systems
- Basic to intermediate networking experience (switches, layers, configurations)
- Ability to pull and analyze network device configurations
- Familiarity with PowerShell or similar command-line environments
Salary:
- $110k - $120k, benefits, 401k+matching
