Performance Engineer and Virtual Simulation

We are looking for a Performance Engineer to join our team and support an important customer. The activity includes: 

• Definition and planning of CO2 and Energy Consumption performance activities on Heavy CV range, that means virtual simulation, with comparison to tests results
• Execution of the simulations above defined, with continuous reference to test activities for their validation
• Simulations shall be conducted with the internal virtual analysis environment and will deal with Longitudinal Performances and Fuel Economy on customer and/or internal cycles. Only by chance, even simulations with VECTO could be required.
• Continuous update of the engine/driveline layout and matrix for S-/X-Way MY24/26 (with the different reference vehicles for the different sub-groups), for CO2 monitoring (target vs. Status) during the project.
• Target deployment and advanced evaluations on next future projects (MY28 / Euro 7)
• Update of impact calculation with potential CO2 reduction measures
• Create and follow the tests plan for performances evaluation with Product Validation and Benchmarking
• Synthesis for the VIRs, to share our work to the Engineering

Qualifications

• Good knowledge of internal combustion engines
• Good experience (over 2 years) in VECTO tool for CO2 simulations
• Good experience in programming in Mathworks Suite (Simulink/Stateflow/Simscape included)
• Knowledge in engine, gearbox, axle, and complete driveline layout, definition and specification
• Knowledge in aerodynamics (Air Drag Test), tire technology and ADAS functions
• Driveline/engine fuel economy layout, requirement definition and calculation
• Support of different engineering departments (chassis, E/E, simulation, validation, FPT) on CO2/ fuel consumption reduction
• Appreciated an eventual Knowledge of GT-Suite, and eventually of other environments, in order to build a new simulation process
