Plant Manager

SUMMARY
Our well established and growing manufacturing client in Philadelphia is seeking a Plant Manager to direct and manage all plant operations with overall responsibilities for safety, production, maintenance, quality and other production-related activities. Plant Manager will ensure all production operations are running efficiently and effectively and allocate labor to all operations to maximize productivity.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following:
Carries out responsibilities in accordance with Plant’s policies and applicable laws.
• Direct and manage plant operations to ensure the business objectives are accomplished in a timely and cost effective manner.
• Provides direct supervision and leadership to production work groups.
• Develop and control production plans, budget, health, and safety.
• Implement cost effective systems of control over capital, operating expenditures, manpower, wages and salaries; including profit and loss responsibility.
• Manage capital asset maintenance.
• Control and minimize labor overtime, premium freight and repair expenses.
• Maintain existing plant facilities and equipment; replace, or make adjustments to plant facilities and equipment when necessary.
• Provide direction, leadership, development and training to supervisors and team to drive the completion of goals and objectives.
• Implement and maintain preventive maintenance, standardized work and lean manufacturing programs.
• Incorporate shop floor organization and plant cleanliness among plant personnel.
• Develop, implement and maintain an effective safety program and ensure compliance to satisfy the requirements of local legislation, EPA and OSHA.
• Maintain superior customer service and on-time delivery.
• Other duties as assigned.
• Five to ten years of manufacturing plant management experience.
• Experience in the electronics recycling, materials processing or waste management industry high preferred.
• Bachelor's degree in related field required.
• Experience working with a union or managing a Collective Bargaining Agreement is preferred.
• Working knowledge of budgets and financial statements.
• Experience with implementing lean manufacturing and 5S initiatives in a new organization.
• Proficient with Microsoft Outlook, Excel, Word and PowerPoint.
