About the Role
We are currently seeking a Pontoon Engineer to join our Marine team on a permanent full-time basis. The responsibility of the Pontoon Engineer is to supervise the maintenance and operation of the Reefworld and Heart Pontoons in a safe and efficient manner, while also conforming to the requirements set forth by GRMPA, AMSA, SMA, and Journey Beyond. The Pontoon Engineer must prioritize a strong dedication to safety and quality, guaranteeing the efficient and effective communication of vessel machinery and operations.
Key responsibilities will include:
- General upkeep of pontoons
- Adherence to high levels of marine safety and pontoon maintenance compliance, ensuring all training and certificates are up to date
- Maintenance and operation of pontoon generators and engines and other maintenance issues on the Pontoon
- Ensuring maintenance is undertaken on board and defects are recorded correctly
- Customer service and product delivery working closely with the hospitality team
- Interactive use of HELM (Asset Management System) and timely upkeep of maintenance requests
About the Role
The successful candidate will have a strong background in the Marine Tourism industry, particularly with high-speed vessels and pontoons. We are looking for an individual who is not only technically skilled but also possesses a passion for providing exceptional customer service and ensuring safety on the water.
To be successful in this role, you will have:
- Extensive knowledge of marine engines and systems, along with practical experience in installations and maintenance.
- A proven track record in conducting risk assessments and implementing effective safety measures for guests.
- Excellent customer service skills, consistently striving to meet and exceed guest expectations and create memorable experiences.
- Strong time management and organisational abilities, enabling you to prioritise tasks effectively and meet deadlines.
- Intermediate computer literacy, including proficiency with tablets and experience using maintenance management software for data entry, coupled with a keen eye for detail that reflects your pride in your work.
