PostgreSQL Support Engineer

Role Overview:

Advansys is seeking a skilled PostgreSQL Support Engineer to provide end-to-end database administration, performance tuning, and troubleshooting. You’ll support mission-critical systems, ensure reliability and data integrity, and work closely with development and infrastructure teams to optimize PostgreSQL environments.

Key Responsibilities:

• Install, configure, and maintain PostgreSQL databases in production and staging environments.
• Monitor database performance and proactively resolve bottlenecks.
• Implement and manage backup, recovery, and replication strategies.
• Handle incident response, root cause analysis, and database optimization.
• Collaborate with developers to optimize SQL queries and schema design.
• Ensure database security, patching, and high availability.

Requirements

• Strong hands-on experience with PostgreSQL administration and tuning.
• Proficiency in SQL and PL/pgSQL.
• Experience with replication, clustering, and backup mechanisms.
• Solid Linux system administration background.
• Familiarity with monitoring tools (pg_stat_statements, Prometheus, Grafana).
