We are looking for a customer-facing Presales Engineer to support our sales and partner teams throughout the sales cycle. You will act as the technical bridge between customers, partners, and internal teams, helping prospects understand how our solutions fit their technical, security, and operational requirements.
This role requires someone who is hands-on technically, but also confident and credible in live customer discussions, workshops, and demos — particularly with German-speaking customers.
Support Sales and Partner Managers during the onboarding phase with technical expertise.
Lead and deliver technical product demonstrations, architecture overviews, and proof-of-concept discussions.
Engage directly with customers to understand technical requirements, constraints, and success criteria.
Translate customer requirements into clear technical proposals and solution designs.
Act as a trusted technical advisor for enterprise and public-sector customers.
Answer technical questions related to deployment, integration, security, scalability, and performance.
Collaborate closely with Product, Engineering, and Support to relay customer feedback and feasibility considerations.
Contribute to technical documentation, SDK, and reusable presales assets.
Support RFPs, RFIs, and tenders with technical input (especially in German).
Fluent German (spoken and written) — this is mandatory.
Strong English proficiency for internal communication.
Proven experience in a Presales, Professional Services, Sales Engineering, or Technical Consulting role.
Solid technical background in software, SaaS, or enterprise IT environments.
Comfortable explaining complex technical concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences.
Experience working directly with customers in meetings, workshops, or demos.
Ability to work collaboratively with Sales while maintaining technical credibility and independence.
Based in Europe and comfortable working in a remote or hybrid setup.
Understanding of cloud and on-prem deployments
Familiarity with web technologies, APIs, and integrations
Basic knowledge of security concepts (authentication, authorization, data protection)
Ability to discuss architecture at a solution level (not just features)
Experience with open-source software.
Exposure to public sector or regulated environments.
Knowledge of data protection, privacy, or digital sovereignty topics.
Experience supporting partners and system integrators.
Competitive salary based on experience.
Flexible working hours and remote-friendly culture.
High-impact role with direct exposure to customers, partners, and product teams.
Opportunity to work in a mission-driven, open-source software company.
Collaborative environment with strong technical peers.
Real influence on deals, product direction, and customer success.
