Process Engineer - Technology Development (Electrical Testing)
As a Process Engineer specializing in Electrical Testing Development, you will play a pivotal role in shaping and advancing our testing strategies for next-generation manufacturing solutions. Your primary focus will be to streamline and define our electrical testing development process, ensuring that our practices are state-of-the-art and scalable for future growth. This position is critical to bringing our organization up to speed with industry-leading functional testing methodologies.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Lead the development and implementation of advanced electrical testing processes, with a focus on circuit testing and end-of-line testing, including isolation, insulation, Time Domain Reflectometry (TDR), and hi-pot continuity.
- Design, automate, and optimize electrical testing systems to improve efficiency, reliability, and repeatability across manufacturing lines.
- Define best practices and standards for electrical testing, helping to establish what our organization should be doing to ensure product quality and compliance.
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to integrate robust testing solutions into new product introduction (NPI) and high-mix/mid-volume environments.
- Develop and qualify next-generation tools and processes for functional testing, ensuring seamless transition from NPI to mass production.
- Implement real-time monitoring, data acquisition, and control systems to provide visibility into test results and process health.
- Identify opportunities for breakthrough improvements in automation, digitalization, and lean testing methodologies.
- Troubleshoot and resolve issues with custom testing and metrology equipment, ensuring safe and effective operation.
Minimum Qualifications (Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities)
Experience/Education
- Bachelor’s degree or higher in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Materials Science, Physics, or a related technical field.
- 5-7+ years of hands-on experience in process engineering, electrical testing, or manufacturing system development, preferably in NPI or high-mix/mid-volume environments.
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities
- Expertise in circuit testing and end-of-line testing, including isolation, insulation, TDR, and hi-pot continuity.
- Experience with high-volume manufacturing methods.
- Prior experience developing scalable testing processes for NPI and mass production.
- Strong background in statistical methods, data visualization, systematic experiment design, and related software (e.g., JMP, Minitab).
- Ability to synthesize and interpret complex test data to support data-driven decisions.
- Independent problem solver with a desire to learn new skills and technologies.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Adaptability to changing requirements in a fast-paced start-up environment.
- Excellent communicator and collaborator, passionate about tackling challenges as part of a high-performance team.
