Role Overview

Location: Cork - NETGEAR European headquarters

Work Model: Hybrid (3 days on site)

Reporting to: Head of Product

NETGEAR Armor, our consumer cybersecurity subscription, protects connected homes with threat detection, identity protection, and digital safety features. As Product Manager, Subscriptions & Payments, you will own the strategy and execution for growing Armor subscriptions and operating a resilient global payments stack. You’ll improve conversion, adoption, pricing, retention, and customer outcomes across mobile apps, routers, backend services, and marketing channels—making Armor an indispensable part of the NETGEAR ecosystem.


This role calls for deep B2C subscription experience, strong agile execution, and a highly analytical mindset. Experience spanning hardware + software subscription ecosystems and consumer cybersecurity is a plus.

Key Responsibilities

Subscription Growth & Monetization
• Own the subscription lifecycle end-to-end: awareness → paywall → trial →
conversion → renewal → retention
• Lead pricing, packaging, trial strategy, and promotional experimentation to optimize
Customer Lifetime Value (LTV) , Average Revenue Per User (ARPU), Average Selling Price (ASP)
• Lead pricing, packaging, trial strategy, and promotional experimentation
• Build predictive insights models and identify new growth levers

Mobile App Subscription Experience

• Own subscription UX in NETGEAR’s iOS & Android apps
• Deliver compelling paywalls, onboarding flows, and contextual upsell journeys
• Ensure compliance with Apple App Store and Google Play billing frameworks

Experimentation & Analytics
• Drive a rigorous experimentation roadmap (A/B tests, funnel diagnostics, cohort
analysis); define clear hypotheses and success metrics.
• Establish robust instrumentation with Data/Engineering for accurate telemetry and
insights; translate findings into actionable backlog changes.

Payments & Billing
• Partner with Engineering to improve billing reliability, payment success,
recovery/retry ladders, dunning, and fraud mitigation.
• Lead integrations and operations with payment platforms (e.g., Stripe Billing),
including catalogs, webhooks, network tokens/Account Updater, SCA/3DS, retries,
refunds, and chargebacks.
• Collaborate with Finance/Legal on global merchant-of-record strategy, multi-currency, VAT/OSS, receipts/invoices, and revenue recognition.

Cybersecurity Product Development

• Develop a strong understanding of Armor capabilities and user needs; translate
complex security concepts into simple, consumer value.
• Drive delivery for roadmap themes such as dark-web monitoring, AI-driven scam
defence, digital identity protection, parental controls, router VPN.

Agile Delivery & Cross Functional Collaboration
• Convert strategy into clear PRDs, user stories, and acceptance criteria; maintain
a prioritized backlog aligned to impact.
• Partner tightly with Security Engineering, Mobile, Backend/Services, Hardware, Growth/Marketing, Support, Data Science, and Finance.

Required Qualifications

• 5+ years of Product Management experience in B2C subscriptions with
measurable impact on growth and/or retention.
• Proven success optimizing mobile subscription funnels and operating
cross-platform subscriptions (web + App Store/Play).
• Hands-on familiarity with subscription billing and payments (e.g., Stripe, Braintree,
Recurly, Chargebee), including retries/dunning and fraud prevention.
• Strong analytical and experimentation skills; experienced with cohorting, funnel
analytics, and pricing/packaging tests.
• Demonstrated agile delivery with Engineering; excellent communication and
stakeholder management across technical and GTM teams.
• Working knowledge of App Store/Play subscription ecosystems and policy
constraints.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with integrated hardware + software subscription models in consumer
products.
• Exposure to consumer cybersecurity domains (threat/identity protection, parental
controls, VPN) and translating them into customer outcomes.
• Knowledge of global payments: PSD2/SCA, PCI scope minimization,
multi-currency, EU VAT/OSS, disputes, and chargebacks.
