- Owns the scrum team backlog, ensuring work items are clearly defined, technically feasible, and aligned to customer and business outcomes.
- Makes day-to-day prioritization and scope decisions to unblock engineering and maintain delivery momentum.
- Ensures the team understands the purpose behind priorities and how delivered work improves payment reliability, performance, and experience.
- Takes accountability for ensuring shipped features meet acceptance criteria and intended use cases.
- Maintains forward-looking backlog readiness by ensuring at least three sprints of groomed, prioritized work are consistently prepared.
- Leads sprint planning, backlog refinement, and sprint reviews with strong preparation and discipline.
- Partners with engineering and UX to deliver incremental, lower-risk improvements rather than large, disruptive releases.
- Establishes clear acceptance criteria and documentation to reduce rework and improve delivery consistency.
- Monitors released features and tracks key performance indicators to ensure delivered work achieves expected outcomes.
- Uses product analytics and operational data to identify gaps, friction points, and opportunities for improvement.
- Drives corrective actions when performance or customer outcomes fall short of expectations.
- Ensures continuous improvement of payment workflows through data-informed iteration.
- Develops deep understanding of biller and payer workflows, pain points, and usage patterns to inform product decisions.
- Incorporates insights from customer interviews, usability sessions, and frontline teams into backlog prioritization.
- Translates complex payment and integration requirements into clear, actionable user stories.
- Leverages analytics, experimentation, and AI-enabled insights to identify opportunities to improve payment experiences and delivery effectiveness.
- Bachelor’s degree required; technical, business, or quantitative fields preferred
- 11–15 years of total professional experience
- 2–5 years of experience as a Product Owner, Business Analyst, or related product role in a SaaS environment
- Hands-on experience working with Agile/Scrum teams; CSPO or similar certification preferred
- Experience with payment processing, payment partner integrations, or fintech domains is a plus
- Strong backlog management, sprint execution, and Agile/Scrum facilitation skills
- Proven ability to articulate customer problems and translate requirements into actionable user stories
- Analytical mindset with the ability to use data to prioritize work and evaluate feature impact
- Clear written and verbal communication skills with strong documentation discipline
- Technical curiosity and ability to understand system behavior, constraints, and trade-offs without coding
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to delivering outcomes, not just features
