Hiya! We’re SimpliCity, a Vancouver-based GovTech startup building technology with purpose. Our core product is a composable content management system (CMS) that unifies municipal digital services, transforming a municipality’s website from a static library into a connected "front door" for the community. We are a small but mighty team that values diversity, curiosity, and the drive to continuously learn and improve.
The Opportunity
We are looking for an intermediate Project Delivery Manager who thrives when they are at the centre of the action. This isn’t a stay-in-your lane project management job. You are the bridge that connects our vision, our technology, our team, and our customers. You excel at bringing order to the unknown, and are motivated by the chance to build the processes that will help us scale.
Because we are a growing startup, this role requires a unique balance. You will navigate the dual complexity of continually building and improving our SaaS platform while simultaneously managing high-stakes website and citizen self-service implementation projects—including design, development, and integrations—to bring new municipal customers (or as we call them, partners) onboard.
What We’re Looking For
- A systems-thinker with 3+ years of experience: You have a solid foundation in technical delivery and project management. You have moved past the basics and are ready to own the process and grow with the team.
- A bridge between vision and execution: You can take high-level solution and design concepts and translate them into actionable, detailed Jira tasks for our dev team. You take pride in making sure the team has exactly what they need to succeed.
- An operational anchor: You take ownership of day-to-day delivery, managing deadlines and identifying bottlenecks to keep projects, both internal and customer-facing, on track.
- A pragmatic process-orchestrator: You create clarity out of unclear requirements and processes. We are not Agile purists; you will suggest and implement best practices that actually make sense for how our team and customers work.
- A partner-facing representative: Alongside our CEO, Briana Sim, you will be a trustworthy face of SimpliCity. You will lead end-to-end onboarding, from design iterations to technical implementations and training. Over time, you may have the opportunity to take full ownership of these municipal relationships.
- A creative problem-solver with humble confidence: You do not just identify blockers; you propose solutions. You are professional in client meetings but humble enough to jump in and test a bug fix if the team needs it.
- A community and event participant: Startups are all-hands-on-deck. You are eager to help represent SimpliCity at conferences and engage with the municipal tech community.
- An AI-forward thinker: You are curious to explore and implement ways AI can augment our team's output and quality, from automating status reports to refining documentation.
- A purpose-driven communicator: You can translate customer-speak into technical requirements without losing the original intent. You have impeccable written and verbal English skills and can adapt your style for whatever the situation needs. You are excited by the mission of helping Canadian municipalities become more digitally capable.
Education & Certifications
- Academic foundation: You hold a university degree or post-secondary diploma in Business, Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
- Certifications: You have (or are actively working toward) your PMP and/or other related certifications in Scrum, Agile, or Product.
- Continuous learning: You have a genuine interest in growing your toolkit. Whether it's exploring product management, lean process improvement, change management, or even AI prompt engineering, we value and support your drive working towards one day becoming a multi-faceted senior leader.
Why Join Us?
- 4-day workweek and flexibility: Our team typically works Mondays to Thursdays. We provide a flexible work environment where you can shift your hours for an appointment, swap a workday when needed, or balance caretaking and life commitments.
- Remote-first: Work from anywhere in Canada. If you're in Vancouver, we’d love to get together for the occasional coffee or tea, meal, or working session.
- Real-world impact: You aren’t just moving tickets; you’re contributing to building digital infrastructure that helps Canadian communities thrive.
- Inclusive in every way: We value diversity in all forms—cultures, ages, sexualities, gender identities, neurotypes, and life experiences. We believe that a team with a wide range of thoughts and perspectives builds better products for the diverse communities we serve. We all contribute to creating an environment where everyone feels respected, included, and empowered to bring their whole, authentic self to work. We particularly encourage women and members of other underrepresented groups in tech to apply.
- No drama and no tech-bro culture: We hire for potential and ‘good human’ vibes. We treat everyone as autonomous professionals where we value collaboration when it’s needed, but we also trust you to simply get on with your work. Our culture is built on mutual respect for the unique skills each person brings to the table.
Hiring Timeline, Rate, and Eligibility
We are looking to hire quickly, therefore this posting will be taken down around 4pm on March 29, 2026. We plan to run interviews and make an offer in April for a start date between May 1 and May 15 (or earlier).
We are hiring a term employee for an initial period of 12 months. This position may be extended and/or turned into a permanent role depending on how our company grows and in your interest in continuing to work with us.
You will work full-time of 32 hours per week within our team schedule of Mon-Thurs, 8am-7pm PDT. If you are working outside BC, we need the bulk of your daily hours to overlap with our team time. You can choose which hours within that window work best for you, and some hours outside the core window are also doable.
We are a fully remote team working within Canada (sorry, candidates physically located outside of Canada will not be considered).
Our budget for this role is within the $40/hr to $45/hr range, depending on your skills and strength of your experience.
Role funding & eligibility note: To help us explore all available funding options for this role, please indicate if you meet any of the following criteria. While all qualified candidates will be considered, we have a preference for those who meet the typical requirements for government-supported programs. Please check all that apply:
- You are between the ages of 15 and 30.
- You are a post-secondary graduate (degree or diploma program).
- You are a Canadian citizen, permanent resident, or have refugee status.
- You are legally entitled to work in Canada.
- You have not previously participated in a government-funded work experience program.
How to Get Our Attention
If you’ve managed to read this far, then chances are you’d love working here (and you appreciate more detail over less!). So as a bonus, we wanted to share some tips with you when applying, because yes, our CEO, Briana Sim (LinkedIn), reads every application. To move to the top of the pile:
- Show your style: In your summary or cover note, tell us why our mission resonates with you. If you have built a workflow or managed a project you are proud of, tell us about it. We would also love to hear what keeps you curious outside of work—whether it is a passion project or your ideal Friday off.
- Give us the real resume: We prefer longer, chronological resumes, and career changes or gaps are fine by us (life is often life-ing, right?). We value context and honesty. We want to understand what you actually accomplished, what you learned, how you performed both individually and as a collaborator, and how your experience makes you ready to grow with us.
