The Project Engineer at Lipman Pty Ltd plays a vital role in supporting the Project Manager in the administration, management, and planning of various projects. This position entails responsibilities such as contract administration, project programming, and planning, as well as engaging in client liaison as directed by the Project Manager. The Project Engineer will also coordinate on-site activities to ensure smooth operations throughout the project lifecycle.
While the Project Engineer's responsibilities may resemble those of a Project Coordinator, this role demands a greater level of autonomy and a comprehensive understanding of project challenges. The Project Engineer will be expected to:
- Take initiative in project completion,
- Address project risks and opportunities,
- Provide insights for design resolutions, and
- Exhibit advanced on-site management skills.
Duties and Responsibilities
Construction Programming
- Prepare, monitor, and adjust construction schedules in collaboration with the Site Manager and Foreman to optimize timeframes,
- Support the submission of extensions of time following head contract conditions,
- Develop and oversee design and procurement programs,
- Assist in the accurate preparation and dissemination of project construction plans,
- Collaborate with stakeholders including clients, authorities, consultants, and subcontractors to align project goals with expectations regarding time and quality,
- Ensure timely project delivery and defect-free completion.
Contract Administration Towards Personnel Management Formal Communication
- Liaise effectively with team members and peers to foster a deeper understanding of ongoing company activities.
- Contribute to written communications such as tender submissions and correspondences with clients and consultants.
- Engage in post-tender interviews to help secure future projects.
Quality, Safety, and Environmental Compliance
- Adhere to Lipman’s quality, safety, and environmental standards as outlined in the Project Plan.
- Proactively identify and rectify issues impacting efficiency, safety, and cost-effectiveness.
- Participate in the creation and implementation of Safe Work Method Statements (SWMS) and Inspection and Test Plans (ITPs).
