Consultant Psychiatrist – Staff Specialist / Senior Specialist | Canberra ACT

We are currently representing a leading public health service in a vibrant and growing regional centre, seeking a Consultant Psychiatrist to join their dynamic Mental Health, Justice Health, and Alcohol & Drug Services division. This is a unique opportunity to contribute to an integrated model of care across hospital, community, and justice settings, all within a supportive and forward-thinking organisation.

Key Details:

• Employment Type: Permanent Full-Time (Part-Time considered)
• Classification: Staff Specialist Level 1–5 / Senior Specialist
• Total Package: $305,300 to $404,970 (pro rata)
  (Includes base salary of $188,151 – $254,198 + attraction and retention incentives, private practice scheme allowance, on-call and education allowances, plus 11.5% super)

The Role:
You will provide specialist psychiatric care across a range of services, including acute inpatient units, community mental health, forensic settings, and outreach programs. With a strong focus on recovery-oriented care, this position plays a critical role in supporting clients of all ages, including youth, adults, and older persons.

You Will Bring:

• Fellowship of the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Psychiatrists (FRANZCP)
• Specialist Registration with AHPRA
• Proven experience in general adult psychiatry (experience in forensic, youth or addiction psychiatry is highly regarded)
• Commitment to multidisciplinary, trauma-informed care
• Leadership skills and a collaborative working style
