Role Overview
We are seeking a passionate Hardware R&D Engineer to advance the development of next‑generation neural interface technologies. In this role, you will lead rapid prototyping to accelerate design iterations, collaborate with external suppliers and contract manufacturers for process outsourcing, and work closely with cross‑functional teams on system‑level engineering.
Primary Role and Responsibilities
Develop and optimize in‑house assembly processes for soft neural interface devices.
Perform electrochemical characterization and mechanical testing of devices.
Conduct troubleshooting and failure analysis to provide design feedback.
Work with external vendors on manufacturing and assembly process outsourcing.
Qualifications
Ph.D. in Electrical, Mechanical, Materials, or Biomedical Engineering (or related field), or a Master’s degree with 3+ years of industry experience.
Academic or industry experience with implantable devices.
Experience in microfabrication, device packaging, and assembly.
Proficiency with electrochemical testing techniques (e.g., EIS, CV).
Experience with failure‑analysis tools and techniques (e.g., SEM, EDS, SIMS, XPS, XRD, FTIR).
Other Qualifications
Conference or journal publications related to implantable devices.
Strong collaborative mindset.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Exceptional organizational skills and attention to detail.
Ability to travel to domestic and international vendor sites (<20%).
