Job Details 
The Release Manager owns the end-to-end release lifecycle, ensuring software updates are planned, tested, deployed, and communicated with precision across non-production and production environments. This role coordinates closely with engineering, product, QA, operations, and support teams to deliver high-quality releases that meet reliability, scalability, and customer expectations. 
 
The Release Manager plays a critical role in operational excellence by maintaining release schedules, improving CI/CD pipelines, managing risk, and ensuring readiness across teams. This role is ideal for someone passionate about delivering SaaS products in a secure, scalable, and highly reliable manner.

  • Defines and maintains a forward-looking release calendar aligned with product roadmaps, engineering capacity, and operational priorities. 
  • Anticipates release risks and dependencies, incorporating mitigation strategies into planning and execution. 
  • Evolves release management practices to support scalability, reliability, and long-term platform growth. 
  • Aligns release processes with company objectives and regulatory or compliance considerations. 
 
Results-Driven 
  • Leads releases from planning through deployment, ensuring timelines, quality standards, and service-level expectations are met. 
  • Oversees production deployments to minimize disruption and ensure stable customer experiences. 
  • Ensures rollback and contingency plans are in place and executed effectively when needed. 
  • Drives accountability through post-release reviews, capturing lessons learned and corrective actions. 
 
Collaboration 
  • Partners closely with engineering, product management, QA, operations, and support teams to coordinate release activities. 
  • Facilitates release readiness reviews, including quality validation, risk assessment, and stakeholder sign-off. 
  • Works cross-functionally to resolve blockers, manage tradeoffs, and keep releases on track. 
  • Influences teams to adopt consistent, disciplined release practices across the organization. 
 
Communicates Effectively 
  • Serves as the central point of contact for release activities, providing clear, timely updates to stakeholders. 
  • Communicates release status, risks, and decisions with transparency to technical and non-technical audiences. 
  • Maintains clear documentation of release plans, configurations, approvals, and outcomes. 
  • Ensures stakeholders understand release impacts, timelines, and post-deployment expectations. 
 
Requirements 
  • Proven experience in release management, project management, or software engineering within a SaaS environment 
  • Strong understanding of Agile development methodologies and CI/CD pipelines 
  • Experience with CI/CD tools such as Jenkins, GitLab, GitHub Actions, or Azure DevOps 
  • Familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP) and containerization technologies (Docker, Kubernetes) 
  • Experience implementing security testing practices and gates in delivery pipelines (e.g., SAST, DAST, OWASP, SonarQube, Veracode, ZAP) 
  • Strong organizational, time-management, and prioritization skills 
  • Excellent stakeholder management, communication, and facilitation skills 
  • Analytical, detail-oriented problem solver able to manage multiple priorities in fast-paced environments 
  • Leadership capability with the ability to influence and align cross-functional teams 
 
Preferred: 
  • Familiarity with security and compliance frameworks (e.g., SOC 2, GDPR, HIPAA) 
  • Certifications in ITIL, Agile, or DevOps practices 
  • Experience with monitoring tools (e.g., New Relic, Datadog) and incident management platforms (e.g., PagerDuty)
