RIS Intermediate Software Engineer

The successful candidate will be responsible for the design, development, unit testing and maintenance of the RIS software and supporting utilities developed at DeepHealth.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities 

1. Software Development:

• Design, develop, unit test and maintain software applications using Angular/React/Node JS, and a cloud based infrastructure.

AND/OR

• Design, develop, unit test and maintain software applications using C# Winforms, with a ASP.NET and MS SQL Server back-end.

•        Collaborate with the team to define, design, and ship new features.

•        Write clean, scalable, and efficient code.

•        Experience with React/Angular is an asset.

2. Database Management:

•        Work with SQL Server to enhance databases.

•        Write and optimize SQL queries for data retrieval and manipulation.

•        Ensure data integrity and performance of the database.

3. Application Support:

•        Provide technical support and maintenance for existing applications.

•        Troubleshoot, debug and resolve issues in a timely manner.

•        Implement changes and enhancements based on user feedback and requirements.

4. Collaboration and Communication:

•        Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including designers, product managers, and other developers.

•        Participate in code reviews, peer testing and provide constructive feedback.

•        Document development processes, code changes, and other relevant information.

5. Continuous Improvement:

•        Stay updated with the latest industry trends and technologies.

•        Continuously improve coding skills and knowledge of software development best practices.

•        Participate in training and development opportunities as required.

Skills and Requirements:

•        We value teamwork.  You must be able to work collaboratively with a group of engineers and QE testers on-site 3 days per week, remote 2 days per week (subject to change)

•        Proficient in C#

•        Knowledge of ASP.NET, Java / Jscript an asset.

•        Experience with web front-end frameworks like React and Angular is an asset

•        Strong understanding of web development and n-tier client server principles and best practices.

•        Knowledge of SQL Server and ability to write efficient SQL queries.

•        Good communication skills.

•        Ability to troubleshoot, debug, and optimize code.

•        Experience with version control systems, preferably Git.

•        Familiarity with modern development methodologies such as Agile, CI/CD is an asset.

Minimum Qualifications, Education and Experience

·       Minimum of a 2 year education in Computer Science or similar field as deemed applicable

·       Experience in lieu of education may be considered

·       Minimum of 5 years experience in software development

Physical Demands

This position often requires sitting, standing, walking, bending, twisting, reaching with hands and arms, using hands and fingers, handling, or feeling, speaking, listening, and high-level cognitive thinking. Also, must be able to lift up to 10 pounds occasionally.

Working Environment

Hybrid work from home+office.  The primary office location is Summerside, PEI, Canada.  It is a strong expectation that the candidate will be in the office at a minimum of 3 days per week.
