About the Role

The Safety & HR Coordinator provides day-to-day support for both Health, Safety & Environmental (HSE) and Human Resources (HR) functions in the Bismarck region. This hybrid position ensures field operations, office teams, and job sites remain compliant with company policies, safety standards, and client requirements.

The ideal candidate brings a blend of administrative, field, and people skills — someone dependable, detail-oriented, and motivated to grow within both safety and HR disciplines.

What You’ll Do

Safety / HSE Responsibilities

  • Support implementation of company safety programs in compliance with OSHA, MSHA, DOT, and client standards.

  • Assist with field safety audits, inspections, and incident reporting.

  • Maintain and organize safety documentation, including training records, near-miss and incident reports, and Job Hazard Analyses (JHAs).

  • Coordinate new-hire safety orientations, toolbox talks, and required employee training.

  • Manage PPE distribution, ensuring field teams have necessary equipment and replacements.

  • Update and maintain Safety Data Sheets (SDS) and job site postings.

  • Assist with contractor compliance systems such as ISNetworld (ISN), One Basin One Way (OBOW), and Veriforce.

Human Resources Responsibilities

  • Support onboarding and offboarding by collecting required forms, certifications, and documentation.

  • Maintain personnel files, training logs, and compliance records.

  • Assist with benefits communication, HR reporting, and policy updates.

  • Coordinate performance review schedules and training completion tracking.

  • Support recruiting activities (posting jobs, scheduling interviews) as needed.

  • Uphold confidentiality and accuracy in handling all employee information.

Field & Administrative Support

  • Visit project sites to conduct documentation checks, deliver materials, and assist with compliance tracking.

  • Serve as a point of contact between field leadership, safety, and office administration.

  • Prepare reports, summaries, and updates for management review.

What You’ll Bring

  • 2–4 years of combined experience in HSE and/or HR, with at least 1 year in each area.

  • Experience in construction, industrial, or oil & gas environments preferred.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft 365 (Excel, Word, Outlook, SharePoint).

  • Familiarity with compliance systems such as ISNetworld, OBOW, or Veriforce a plus.

  • Strong attention to detail, organization, and follow-through.

  • Excellent communication skills and ability to interact with both field crews and management.

  • Valid driver’s license with an acceptable driving record.

Working Conditions

  • Based out of the Bismarck office with regular field travel.

  • Ability to stand, walk, bend, and move through active job sites for up to 10 hours per day.

  • Must be able to lift up to 40 lbs (e.g., delivering PPE or materials).

  • Regular exposure to outdoor weather, noise, and construction environments; PPE required.
