This isn’t just mowing greens and checking boxes. As the Second Assistant Superintendent, you’re part of the team that keeps the course healthy, playable, and evolving — especially during construction and grow-in. You’ll help manage people, projects, and turf. You’ll work with budgets, equipment, and schedules. You’ll solve problems in real time and make decisions that directly impact the quality of the course.
You’re not just maintaining a golf course — you’re helping build one. That means your job will shift with the seasons, the weather, and the progress on the ground. Some days, you’ll be in the field, hands-on; other days, you’ll be supporting the team behind the scenes, planning and ensuring everything is running smoothly.
This role is for someone ready to lead when needed, learn every day, and take pride in doing quality work with a strong, reliable team.
Where soul-stirring golf meets the spirit of the American West.
Rodeo Dunes is a public golf resort developed by Michael Keiser, owner of Sand Valley Resort. Set on over 4,000 acres of towering sand dunes reminiscent of the southwest coast of Ireland, Rodeo Dunes is set to become a world-class golf destination. Two course routings are complete – one by the acclaimed duo of Bill Coore and Ben Crenshaw, and the other marking the solo debut of longtime C&C associate, Jimmy Craig. Construction began in the summer of 2024. With a rollicking, sandy dunescape, welcoming Western hospitality, and inspiring long views of the Rocky Mountains, Rodeo Dunes will introduce guests to a historic - but new to many - region of Colorado. Rodeo Dunes is located less than an hour from Denver and Denver International Airport, and just a short drive from the Fort Collins and Colorado Springs areas. The resort will embody similar philosophies and values that have made Bandon Dunes and Sand Valley two of the world’s top golf destinations.
What you’ll be doing:
You’ll work closely with the Golf Course Superintendent to help shape and maintain a top-tier golf experience from the ground up. If you’ve ever wanted to leave your mark on a course before the first time is even booked, this is it.
• Keeping the turf healthy, playable, and beautiful.
• Managing the irrigation, drainage, and construction projects that make it all possible.
• Working with a team — hiring, training, and leading.
• Making smart calls on budgets, schedules, and operations.
• Staying hands-on with equipment, chemical applications, and records.
• Taking ownership when the Superintendent isn’t around.
• And being the kind of leader others want to work with.
Who we are looking for:
You’ve got at least 3 years of golf course experience and you’re not afraid of hard work or dirty boots.
You might already have a turf degree. Or maybe you’re working on one. We’re open.
You get the big picture — budgets, planning, people — but you don’t mind grabbing a shovel when needed.
You can talk turf, manage a team, and stay calm under pressure.
You have a valid driver’s license and a professional, positive attitude.
You understand that the weather doesn’t care about your schedule — and you’re good with that.
