As a Security Administrator within AFCA’s Information Services team, you will be responsible for overseeing security practices across AFCA’s Cloud and On-Prem environments. This role combines hands-on technical work with governance of security best practices for new and existing systems. You’ll work closely with the Senior Security Manager while operating with autonomy to achieve key security objectives.
This is a 24-month contract.
Key responsibilities
- Deploy, configure, and document security systems, including Microsoft/Azure (Defender, Servers, AD/Entra ID, Email), Palo Alto (Firewalls, Prisma Access), Cloudflare, CrowdStrike, ExtraHop, and Airlock Digital.
- Assist in developing and continuously improving AFCA’s security controls.
- Provide governance over security control effectiveness and system configurations, including data collection for metrics and reporting.
- Oversee and review access privilege allocations to ensure compliance with role-based access and least privilege principles.
- Monitor and respond to security alerts and support incident response investigations.
- Contribute to projects and provide support to project management functions as required.
Qualifications
- Significant experience with administering Palo Alto Networks firewalls (either cloud based or on-prem, ideally both) using products such as Strata Cloud Manager, Panorama or Prisma.
- Experience with administering both Windows and Linux servers.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to manage many competing priorities and stakeholder expectations.
- Strong analytical, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills.
Vulnerability management experience, ideally with Tenable (Desirable)
Web application testing experience with tools such as Burp Suite
WAF administration experience, ideally with Cloudflare (Desirable)
