We are seeking a Lead Security Engineer to own and elevate security across our organization. You will be a hands-on technical leader and people manager responsible for designing, implementing, and operationalizing secure patterns across our AWS platform, Kubernetes environments, and release pipelines; while also maintaining breadth across application security, IAM, SecOps/IR, compliance, and data privacy. You will work deeply with Engineering, DevOps, Product, Compliance, and Legal to ensure that Credit Genie’s systems are secure, scalable, and resilient; enabling fast and confident delivery without compromising security posture.

Provide People Management & Mentorship by coaching engineers, setting clear expectations, building a strong team culture, and raising the bar on execution and technical growth.
Set the direction for Security Technical Leadership across teams by guiding architecture decisions, driving alignment on secure-by-default patterns, and ensuring adoption through code, documentation, and collaboration.
Uphold and improve Cloud & Infrastructure Security across AWS and core platform components by defining baselines, guardrails, and secure patterns for networking, compute, storage, and data services.
Ensure Infrastructure as Code (IaC) Security is consistently implemented by partnering with DevOps to embed policy enforcement, reusable modules, and secure automation from design through deployment.
Drive improvements in Application Security & Offensive Testing by strengthening secure SDLC practices (threat modeling, reviews, pipeline checks) and partnering on pen testing, vulnerability management, and remediation prioritization.
Lead the program for IAM & Identity Controls by advancing least-privilege access, role design, secrets management, and zero-trust-aligned approaches across human and workload identities.
Run and continuously improve Detection, Incident Response & Forensics by enhancing telemetry, SIEM/CSPM coverage, response playbooks, and DFIR workflows for cloud and platform incidents.
Partner on Compliance, Data Security & Privacy by translating regulatory requirements into practical, auditable controls and ensuring customer data protections are implemented across the stack.
3+ years of experience managing security engineering teams of 5 or more
8+ years of experience in security engineering, cloud infrastructure, or platform engineering roles.
BS/MS in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent professional experience.
Deep hands-on experience with AWS and cloud security services.
Strong experience with Infrastructure as Code with a track record of implementing security controls via code.
Experience with Kubernetes or other container orchestration platforms and container security frameworks.
Proficient in modern programming languages (Typescript, Python, Go,Kotlin) with ability to build security automation and tooling for cloud infrastructure.
Experience with CI/CD security, secure pipeline design, and DevSecOps practices.
Strong understanding of network security fundamentals, IAM, zero-trust principles, and cloud security architecture.
Experience operating in regulated environments (fintech, payments, financial services) strongly preferred.
Excellent collaboration and communication skills, with a history of influencing cross-functional engineering outcomes.

Your actual level and base salary will be determined on a case-by-case basis and may vary based on the following considerations: job-related knowledge and skills, education, and experience.
