As a shooter/blaster you will have a minimum 3 to 5 years’ experience in seismic acquisition; minimum six (6) months of on-the-job experience as a Shooter or Drillers Helper within the past 36 months immediately preceding the date of application. As a shooter/blaster, you will ensure the correct location of, and detonation of all pre-loaded explosive charges. Pre-loaded explosives are connected to the seismic recording equipment by the Shooter and then detonated by the Observer in the recorder (aka doghouse). You will use your well-developed interpersonal and communication skills to communicate with the Observers. You are responsible for the organization, operation and monitoring of all seismic blasting equipment and explosives as well as being responsible for training and monitoring shooter’s helpers. You must possess a valid blasting certificate, driver’s license and quad certification and may also be required to assist the line crew, as requested by senior personnel. The Shooter reports directly to the Observer. **You must be legally entitled to work in the region applying for and willing to travel.
