As a Senior Aerodynamicist, you will be part of the Aerodynamic Development team that has the primary goal of developing innovative aerodynamic solutions for the current and future race car.
Working closely with the groups Principal Aerodynamicist and Project Leaders, you'll help us out perform our rivals by maximising our aerodynamic understanding of the car through insightful analysis of CFD and experimental data.
This is a hands-on, performance-focused role. You’ll plan and execute wind tunnel tests, extract learning from every run, and translate complex data into clear direction that sharpens our competitive edge. You'll own an area of the car, and be developing improved working methods and practices along the way.
Collaboration is key: you’ll work closely with the wider Aerodynamics group and Design to ensure aerodynamic intent is realised on the car. As a senior member of the team, you’ll also coach and mentor developing engineers, strengthening capability across the department.
We’re building a culture of curiosity, challenge and continuous improvement, and we’re looking for someone who thrives in that environment.
Responsibilities will include:
About You:
As a Senior Aerodynamicist, you combine deep technical understanding with clear communication, enabling you to challenge ideas constructively and bring others with you. You’ll have a strong grounding in aerodynamic theory and practical application, with experience using CFD to generate insight and guide car development, ideally including non-standard modelling approaches. You’re confident working with CAD to design aerodynamic surfaces and comfortable interpreting complex data to uncover performance drivers.
Organised and decisive, you can prioritise effectively in a fast-paced environment and deliver high-quality work under pressure. You’re naturally inquisitive, always seeking better solutions and new approaches. Whether your experience comes from Formula 1 or another high-performance environment, you bring strong aerodynamic fundamentals, a growth mindset, and a collaborative approach that elevates those around you.
A relevant engineering degree (or equivalent experience) is essential, along with the ability to present complex technical concepts clearly to both specialist and non-specialist audiences. An understanding of working to tight regulatory, quality and cost cap constraints - such as those in F1 - is highly desirable.
