We’re looking for an experienced Senior Business Development Manager to join our growing US Commercial team. This role is focused on winning net-new clients for Thredd across the Americas and closing complex, high‑value opportunities across the payments ecosystem.

 

What you’ll be doing as a Senior Business Development Manager 

  • Leading the acquisition of net-new clients for Thredd, taking full ownership of complex, high-value sales opportunities from initial origination through to signed contract.
  • Designing and steering multi-threaded sales cycles, coordinating senior stakeholders across commercial, product, legal and compliance to keep deals moving and remove blockers.
  • Representing Thredd with confidence in front of C-suite and executive stakeholders across banks, fintechs and the wider payments ecosystem, leading high‑stakes commercial conversations and negotiations.
  • Building, nurturing and leveraging a strong network in your target markets to originate new opportunities, open doors with key decision-makers and stay close to market developments.
  • Shaping deal strategy and commercial structures, aligning pricing, terms and solution design, and mobilising the right Thredd experts at each stage to progress and close opportunities.
  • Owning your pipeline and revenue targets, ensuring a strong mix of near-term and longer-cycle opportunities that support both in-year delivery and sustainable growth for Thredd across the Americas.
  • Maintaining rigorous pipeline hygiene and forecasting discipline, using Salesforce to provide clear, accurate visibility on activity, deal progression and expected revenue.

What you’ll bring to the Senior Business Development Manager position

  • Direct experience selling issuer processing or closely related payments solutions, with strong understanding of issuer processor capabilities, challenges and opportunities.​
  • Proven track record of structuring, managing and closing complex, often lengthy B2B sales cycles
  • Established network across banking, fintech and/or corporate segments that can be leveraged to originate and progress new opportunities.
  • Consistent achievement of sales targets, with clear evidence of delivering net‑new revenue in a payments or financial services solutions environment.
  • Ability to translate client business problems into compelling solutions and commercially robust proposals.​
  • High level of commercial acumen, including confidence shaping pricing, deal economics and ROI‑driven business cases.
  • Proficient user of CRM tools (preferably Salesforce) and comfortable analysing pipeline and sales performance data to inform prioritisation.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to present credibly to C‑suite and cross‑functional stakeholder groups.
