We are seeking a senior communications specialist for the APAC region (excluding China & Japan) to join our dynamic global communications team. The senior communications specialist for APAC will be responsible for the implementation of external corporate, B2B and B2C communications strategies and assisting on the strategic direction of regional communications activities for Sandisk in the region. This will include PR activity around corporate news and product launches, thought leadership campaigns, B2B/corporate social media and support of events within the region. This role is critical to the ongoing success of the organization in APAC and will be based at the company offices in Penang, Malaysia or Singapore with some scope for flexible working.

Covering earned media (PR) and influencer engagement, events and sponsored content, with involvement in wider integrated campaigns, this role will work is part of the global communications team and will also work closely with local marketing teams on product launches and campaign support. The role requires close cooperation with key regional stakeholders in channel and product marketing and sales, as well as day-to-day management of retained agency teams across five countries in the APAC region.

Frequent travel within the region and infrequent international travel may be expected, depending on environmental factors.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Manage agencies to execute regional activities against agreed KPIs, translate international copy and help to generate local content.
  • Support a reviews and awards programme for our consumer and edge products.
  • Contribute to and implement regional communications plans which align to business goals.
  • Manage and assist in regionalizing and distributing product and company news.
  • Manage 1-2-1 relationships with key media and influencers.
  • Support B2B thought leadership and issues-based campaigns.
  • Manage communications around key trade events in region.
  • Execute creative campaigns for momentum media activity outside main news cycle.
  • Support corporate comms activities in the region as necessary, including corporate social media where appropriate.
  • Support local marketing activities where required.
  • Work closely with key regional contacts and act as a trusted advisor on all things’ communications.

Qualifications

REQUIRED:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Marketing or related field of study.
  • 10+ years of related professional experience within a public relations or communications function.
  • Substantial experience working with media (both B2C and B2B) and influencers.
  • Fluency in English.

PREFERRED:

  • Additional language preferred but not mandatory.

SKILLS:

  • Understanding of company’s strategic and competitive position together with a deep comprehension and interest in new technologies.
  • Ability to gracefully handle multiple projects in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
  • Exceptional communications, writing and presentation skills.
  • Metrics based approach and strong commercial acumen.
  • The ability to be able to interface with stakeholders at all levels, across departments and geographies.
  • Team player with excellent listening skills and diplomacy.
  • Outstanding judgement and creative problem-solving skills.
