We have built the new way for energy to be transacted.
tem exists to fix a creaking energy market. Today's wholesale system is stacked in favour of the few - a relic of the oil and gas era, riddled with markups and middlemen. We're changing that.
Our product, RED™, is built on a proprietary pricing engine that bypasses the wholesale market, enabling businesses to buy energy produced by renewable generators directly. That means clear, auditable transactions that ensure affordable bills and fair compensation - giving every business real ownership and control over where their energy comes from.
Since launching in 2021, we've saved UK businesses and generators over £25 million, powering a growing network of forward-thinking companies, from Pizza Pilgrims to Silverstone.
Backed by top-tier VCs including Atomico and Albion, we're creating a new category in energy - one that's decentralised, direct, and built on trust.
Do you want to work on one of the biggest problems of our time – how we make energy systems transparent, affordable, and powered by renewables? Energy data underpins everything we do at tem, from pricing intelligence to customer success, and we’re building a team that can turn raw numbers into powerful decisions.
We’re looking for a Senior Data Analyst to embed within one of our cross-functional squads, partnering closely with Product, Engineering, Commercial, and Customer Success. This is a high-impact, hands-on role: you’ll own analytics within your domain, help define success metrics, and turn data into actionable insights that shape product direction and commercial outcomes.
From analysing feature impact, to sizing new opportunities, to understanding churn and broker performance, your work will directly influence squad priorities and business performance. You’ll act as the data leader within your squad — proactive, commercially minded, and deeply collaborative — while remaining connected to the wider data community at tem.
This role sits at the intersection of analytics, execution, and influence. You’ll combine technical depth with strong communication skills to ensure data drives day-to-day decisions and long-term strategy.
Embed within a squad: Work as a core member of a cross-functional team, shaping roadmap decisions with data-driven insight.
Own domain metrics: Define, maintain, and evolve clear success metrics for your squad, ensuring alignment with company-wide KPIs.
Deliver actionable insights: Conduct deep-dive analyses that inform product improvements, commercial strategy, and customer outcomes.
Build and maintain dashboards: Create clear, reliable reporting and self-serve tools that empower stakeholders to make confident decisions.
Influence experimentation and measurement: Support experiment design, feature impact analysis, and performance tracking to drive continuous improvement.
Collaborate with data & engineering: Partner with analytics engineers and data engineers to ensure high-quality, well-modelled data foundations.
Raise the bar: Contribute to analytics best practices, documentation, and knowledge-sharing across squads.
Must-Haves:
Proven experience: Several years of experience in data analytics, with a track record of delivering insights that influenced product or commercial decisions.
Embedded partnership mindset: Experience working closely with product managers, engineers, and commercial stakeholders in fast-paced environments.
Strong technical skills: Advanced SQL and Python skills, experience with modern analytics stacks (e.g., dbt, Looker/Tableau or similar BI tools).
Data storytelling: Ability to translate complex analysis into clear, compelling narratives tailored to different audiences.
Business understanding: Comfortable with product performance analysis, funnel optimisation, churn analysis, commercial sizing, and KPI tracking.
Ownership & autonomy: Confident operating independently within a squad, managing priorities and balancing reactive and proactive work.
Desirable:
Experience working in a squad-based or product-led organisation.
Familiarity with energy markets, fintech, or climate tech.
Experience supporting experimentation frameworks or A/B testing.
Exposure to metric definition and analytics governance in scaling companies.
Competitive salary - our current band for this role is £75,000 or equivalent in local currency.
We review salaries twice a year using real-time market data, with transparent, consistent pay for the same role and level.
Stock Options - everyone on the team has ownership in our mission.
25 days holiday + public holidays - Swap public holidays for ones that matter most to you. Plus, get an extra day off for your birthday 🎉.
Remote & flexible working - We’re fully remote, distributed across Europe with clear core hours, and no internal meetings on Friday afternoons.
Home working & wellbeing budgets:
Up to £1,200 / €1,200 annually to upgrade your remote setup (co-working passes, equipment, etc.).
Up to £150 / €150 monthly on anything that supports your wellbeing - from therapy to gym memberships to meditation apps.
Our processes normally take around 3-4 weeks from first call to offer - please let us know about any adjustments to timelines that may be required.
First call with our Talent Team (30 min). This is to understand your experience, motivations, and discuss the role in more detail.
Behaviour Interview with our Data Manager (45 min). This is your chance to really understand the role, the expectations, and ensure alignment on ways of working.
Technical Interviews with the Team (60 min). You’ll meet members of the team, in a hands-on session, focused on analysis, problem-solving, and visualisation.
Culture-Add Interview with Stakeholders (45 min). The final session will be with one of our Co-Founders, and a cross-functional peer, and will explore how your values align with ours, and is designed to be a genuine two-way conversation, your chance to understand what it’s really like to work at tem.
We welcome applications from people of all backgrounds, experiences, and identities, including those that are traditionally underrepresented in the tech and energy sectors. If you’re excited about this role but not sure you meet every requirement, we’d still love to hear from you. Your unique perspective could be exactly what we’re looking for.
