20/2/26 - update on reqs:
Notes from meeting: Alignment of recruitment priorities for the Data Platforms team.
The original brief focused on securing a Principal or Lead Data Engineer with deep experience across modern data platforms such as Snowflake, Microsoft technologies, Fivetran, Databricks, Oracle, etc. combined with strong consulting capability. The ideal candidate would be technically exceptional, confident running client workshops, comfortable engaging senior stakeholders, and commercially astute - effectively a highly experienced consultant with both architectural depth and strong business acumen. We have agreed that this profile represents a bit of a 'unicorn'.
As a result, we're pivoting to a search toward a more attainable but still high-impact role, likely positioned as a Senior Data Analytics Consultant or Senior Data Analyst. This person would bring strong SQL coding capability, Power BI expertise (incl. DAX), strong semantic modelling and data architecture skills with a strong background in cloud data platforms (MS Fabric, Snowflake or Databricks) and a solid understanding of business consulting. While Deb will continue to keep an eye out for a Principal-level “unicorn”, the near-term focus will shift to defining and recruiting for this revised senior analytics role.
Data range: Left = pure engineering through to Right = business/consulting
Action: Ram, Scott and Elham will collaborate to develop the formal role spec for Jaco's review.
