Server Farm Critical Facilities Services provides two main functions. SFCFS seeks to deliver uninterrupted power and cooling to each data center in the Server Farm portfolio. This is complimented by providing remote monitoring services to both internal sites and external clients
The Critical Facilities Technician are responsible for the day-to-day operation of critical facilities. They are key components of the Serverfarm commitment to safety, reliability and operational excellence as well as being the eyes and ears of the site.
Key Accountabilities
- Ensure that all Electro Mechanical plant and distribution infrastructure is operated and
maintained in a safe manner, to best industry practice and within manufacturers
recommendations
- Monitor power and environmental conditions within all critical spaces within the facility.
- Perform assigned maintenance tasks in accordance with SF practices utilizing the internal CMMS.
- Assist with planning and scheduling corrective maintenance activities
- Escort and support outside contractors, ensuring they are abiding SF work rules and processes
- Respond to site incidents, execute appropriate MOP/EOP documentation to resolve and/or mitigate issues and communicate to manage throughout event.
- Support and follow all SF Change Control policies and procedures.
- Perform site rounds and report any issues found to site management.
- Participate in construction and commissioning activities as directed by site management
- Adhere to all local, state and federal safety laws and requirements
- Ensure the provision of a Safe and Healthy working environment. To include the wearing of uniform and PPE at all times
- Complete other duties as assigned by the management team
- Ensure an awareness and compliance to the contractual KPI’s/SLA’s. Ensure up to date shift logs / Shift Handover documents are completed/kept at all times.
- Ensure the professional image of Serverfarm is presented to clients at all times
- Ensure that suitable spares are available to carry out both maintenance and reactive works. To provide parts lists and estimated timescales to carry out remedial works

Person Specification
Education A good basic education is essential, with good written and spoken English and basic Mathematical skills.
Formally trained in electrical/mechanical maintenance.
BMS Knowledge.
Experience (Essential) of maintaining all relevant mechanical and electrical
equipment to clearly defined criteria.
Driver's license type B.
Electrical license - 250A, 630A
High voltage license would be an advantage
Work permit at its heigh - valid would be an advantage
Training Any I.T or Data Centre qualifications would be an advantage
A good knowledge of IT equipment and their components including server, switch and blade technology.
An understanding of the Data Centre environment, and the working restrictions applicable to such environments.
Familiar with the use of Microsoft Office applications.
A good understanding of fault diagnostic techniques including the use of handheld test equipment.
Aptitudes Good communication skills, both written and verbal

Circumstances Must be willing to work 12-hour shift pattern made up days and nights, to provide holiday and sickness cover at short notice and be flexible in their working patterns if required
