We're committed to building a global, diverse team representing different and varied backgrounds, perspectives, and experiences. We're seeking an experienced Senior Data Engineer who combines deep pipeline and data architecture expertise with a high-ownership mindset and a genuine drive to build data infrastructure that makes the whole organisation smarter.
You'll be part of our Data & AI team, working closely with AI Engineers, BI Engineers, and business stakeholders across a remote-first organisation spread across Asia and Europe. You'll own meaningful parts of the data platform end-to-end — from architecture to reliability — with the autonomy to make technical decisions and the expectation to deliver at scale without compromising data quality or governance. Your work directly enables AI model training, business intelligence, and operational reporting: you're the foundation everyone builds on. AI tooling is a first-class part of how we work: you'll use it to accelerate data engineering work, and you'll be the quality bar on everything that ships.
Design, implement, and maintain robust, scalable data pipelines to support AI, analytics, and operational reporting
Own and evolve the data warehouse architecture, ensuring it meets performance, flexibility, and governance needs
Work closely with AI Engineers and BI Engineers to enable advanced modelling, data exploration, and dashboard reliability
Ensure data integrity, availability, lineage, and observability across complex pipelines
Define and enforce best practices in data modelling, pipeline orchestration, and data infrastructure reliability
Champion the use of Infrastructure as Code and automation in managing data services
Proactively address scaling bottlenecks, performance issues, and architectural challenges
Leverage AI tools to accelerate data engineering work — and act as the quality gate on AI-generated pipeline code
Mentor junior Data Engineers and contribute to team knowledge sharing
Minimum of 6 years in Data Engineering or Software Engineering, with at least 2 years in a senior role
Deep experience with ETL/ELT frameworks and data pipeline orchestration (e.g. Airflow, dbt)
Strong Python and advanced SQL skills
Hands-on experience with modern data warehouses (e.g. Snowflake, BigQuery, Redshift) and data lake architectures
Strong understanding of data modelling, data partitioning, schema design, and performance tuning
Solid knowledge of cloud platforms (preferably AWS) and infrastructure automation tools (e.g. Terraform)
Experience with monitoring and observability of data pipelines
Demonstrated, hands-on experience using AI tools to accelerate data engineering in a production context
Ability to communicate effectively in a remote environment — clear written communication, reliable async collaboration
Familiarity with AI/ML workflows, feature stores, and real-time data needs
Experience implementing MLOps and DataOps best practices
Strong stakeholder management and ability to translate business needs into data requirements
Experience with data privacy regulations (e.g. GDPR, PII handling)
Self-directed and self-improving: you manage your own time, define your own growth path, and hold yourself to a high bar without waiting to be told
