Reporting to the Manager - Hydrogeology, the Senior Hydrogeologist I is responsible for providing technical input/services in their area of expertise and directing the collection, management, and interpretation of hydrogeological data for remediation, reclamation, or resource development projects.
Responsibilities
Provide senior hydrogeological technical input to projects throughout Ensero.
Technical communications, including report writing and reviewing.
Coordinate scoping and execution of technical programs with other disciplines (i.e. surface water, geochemistry, modelling, etc.)
Conduct, interpret and report on hydrogeological, geochemical and water studies.
Interfacing and communicating with Operations Managers on scheduling and resource requirements within the different groups of the Company.
Monitor and promote environmental health and worker safety.
Scope and lead (as needed) fieldwork on hydrogeological and geotechnical programs including monitoring, supervision of borehole drilling, monitoring well installation, and aquifer testing.
Ability to select and apply specialized field testing and monitoring technique for groundwater characterization studies.
Factual and interpretive reporting of field data and site conditions.
Develop and coordinate project-specific work plans and lead proposal development.
Interface with other technical experts to achieve multidisciplinary project goals.
Interact and liaise with clients, stakeholders and assessors/government regulators.
Identify and prioritize key opportunities for growth and expansion by new client accounts to accelerate business and portfolio growth.
Lead the development of proposals for potential new business.
Develop professional and business relationships across the industry to better advance Ensero’s growth and strategic initiatives.
Lead special projects that support the broad-based needs of a rapidly expanding company.
Provide mentorship, coaching, and professional development opportunities for junior scientists throughout Ensero.
All other related duties as required.
Minimum Experience & Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in related science (geology, chemistry, environmental science or engineering).
15+ years relevant experience in mining or environmental consulting with demonstrated success in geochemistry related services.
P.Geo. or P.Eng accreditation or eligibility an asset
Computer skills including Microsoft Office Suite;
Excellent written and oral communication
Desired Qualifications
Master’s/Doctorate level degree preferred.
Excellent communication and ability to influence cross-departmental collaboration
Deep understanding of regulations and trends within industry
