Senior IT Project Manager
Location: DC-Metro Area Preferred (Hybrid | On-site as needed in Maryland)
Clearance/Screening Requirements: Offer recipients will undergo background screening, including employment and education verification, criminal background check, and consumer reports.
Position Summary:
PBG is seeking a Senior IT Project Manager to lead Operations and Maintenance (O&M) and Development, Modernization, and Enhancement (DME) efforts for a portfolio of enterprise-level, web-based systems in a federal environment.
This role requires experience managing IT projects within federal frameworks, including sprint planning, cross-functional coordination, and compliance with reporting and documentation requirements. The Senior IT Project Manager will collaborate closely with internal technical teams and external stakeholders to ensure successful and timely project delivery. The position reports to the Program Manager.
Key Responsibilities:
Project Oversight & Execution
- Lead and coordinate O&M and DME activities across multiple applications.
- Drive sprint planning and execution, ensuring tasks are tracked and completed on schedule.
- Oversee release management in partnership with development and operations teams.
Reporting & Documentation
- Prepare and submit recurring reports (weekly, monthly, quarterly) covering:
- System milestones and achievements
- Task and sprint progress
- Security and ATO-related updates
- Help desk support metrics
- Change request status
- Generate additional reports and documentation as required by oversight entities.
Stakeholder Engagement & Governance
- Serve as the primary point of contact for project delivery communications.
- Support governance processes including Configuration Control Boards (CCB), Earned Value Management (EVM), and agency-specific reporting requirements.
- Ensure timely and compliant submission of required documentation.
Team Collaboration & Support
- Develop a solid understanding of the systems’ architecture, functions, and business workflows.
- Participate in team meetings, sprint reviews, and delivery assessments.
- Contribute to the validation and testing of release deliverables.
Tools & Platforms:
- Jira / Confluence – Agile task management and documentation
- ServiceNow – Ticket tracking and metrics reporting
- GitHub / GitLab – Version control and release coordination
- Microsoft Teams / Outlook / SharePoint – Communication and document collaboration
- Microsoft Excel / PowerPoint – Report generation and visualization
- EVM Tools – Performance and cost tracking
- (Familiarity with additional government-specific platforms is a plus)
Qualifications:
- Minimum 10 years of IT experience
- Minimum 5 years managing IT projects in federal or enterprise settings
- Proven experience in agile planning, documentation, and reporting
- Full lifecycle delivery experience (development, testing, release, O&M)
- PMP or Agile/Project Management certification strongly preferred
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
