Job Description

We are hiring a 2-in-1 position that covers ‘Manufacture Engineering’ Role as well as ‘Process Engineering’ role. You will be responsible for scaling up RIVR‘s production capacity from trial-production/workshop level (dozens to a hundred units) to mass-production with efficiency and high level of quality consistency while still maintaining the flexibility, and the production’s daily operation.

What you’ll be doing

  • Plan, design, and optimize assembly and testing line layouts for mass production in collaboration with external partners.
  • Establish and maintain detailed P-Flow charts, Control Plans, WI/SOP documentation, and the process parameter database.
  • Perform and maintain comprehensive P-FMEA analyses to mitigate manufacturing risks.
  • Monitor and record key manufacturing and efficiency data, including cycle time, first-pass yield, downtime, OEE, scrap rate, and CP/CPK levels.
  • Propose continuous improvement methods based on the analysis of collected manufacturing data.
  • Select equipment and tools for all facility areas (assembly, testing, inventory, and rework/repair) by working with external partners.
  • Define deliverables and work processes, integrating operational needs into MES and ERP systems.
  • Implement Lean manufacturing principles and the 5S management method to provide continuous optimization insights.
  • Lead communication and tracking with external vendors for the procurement of customized assembly and testing equipment.
  • Identify and prioritize manufacturing steps for automation to improve efficiency and consistency while maintaining operational flexibility.
  • Conduct operator training to ensure staff proficiency in production processes and equipment usage.
  • Provide DFM (Design for Manufacturing) guidance to the engineering team to optimize product buildability.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve facility-related issues, including equipment failures and process deviations.
  • What you must have

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in an Engineering field.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in high-volume production within the automotive, bike/e-bike, AGV/AMR, medical, or consumer electronics sectors.
  • Proven track record of leading at least two complete projects from the trial-production phase through to full-scale volume production.
  • Outstanding hands-on technical skills, strong analytical and judgmental abilities, and a resilient mindset for solving complex engineering problems.
  • Extensive experience in "from-the-ground-up" equipment or production line design, as well as managing automation projects.
  • Solid understanding of the logic and operational usage of MES (Manufacturing Execution Systems) and ERP (Enterprise Resource Planning) systems.
  • In-depth knowledge of international quality standards and core tools, including IATF 16949, APQP, PPAP, PFMEA, MSA, SPC, and 8D analytical methodologies.
  • Strong written English proficiency for technical documentation and communication; oral fluency is not a requirement for this role.
  • Get some bonus points

  • Highly proactive spirit with a proven willingness to tackle complex and challenging tasks and the leadership to navigate seemingly chaotic projects.
  • Relentless "get-it-done" mindset focused on achieving goals even under resource-constrained conditions, prioritizing solution-oriented thinking over identifying obstacles.
  • Direct experience working in early-stage startups, demonstrating the adaptability and speed required in high-growth environments.
  • Strong verbal English communication skills for effective collaboration and reporting.
  • Proven experience coordinating with Contract Manufacturers (CMs) to ensure production standards and timelines are met.
  • RIVR is committed to building a diverse and inclusive team that values every perspective. If you’re passionate about driving innovation in robotics and creating meaningful impact, we encourage you to apply and bring your unique self to our team.

We believe the best work is done when collaborating and therefore require in-person presence in our office locations.
