Senior Product Engineer

Farel is a San Francisco-based startup revolutionizing how airlines manage inventory and sales with our cutting-edge SaaS platform. We’ve raised over $4M from top-tier Silicon Valley investors, including Y Combinator (the launchpad for companies like Airbnb, Dropbox, and Coinbase). Our previous team successfully built an online travel agency (OTA) that was acquired by a publicly traded company. With a diverse and dynamic global team across the US, Georgia, Poland, Serbia, Turkiye, Kazakhstan, Brazil, and Mexico, we are ambitiously pushing the boundaries of the aviation industry.

We are seeking a Senior Kotlin/Java Developer with a deep understanding of backend development and a passion for driving innovation in the aviation sector. If you're ready to take on complex challenges and make a significant impact, we want to hear from you.

• Languages: Kotlin, Java

• Frameworks: Spring Boot

• Databases: PostgreSQL, Redis

• Cloud: Azure

• Containerization: Docker, Kubernetes

🔍 Responsibilities:

• Design, develop, and maintain robust backend services using Kotlin and Java.

• Develop and optimize APIs for seamless integration with external systems.

• Collaborate with cross-functional teams in an Agile environment.

• Implement and manage automated testing (JUnit, Testcontainers).

• Participate in code reviews.

🎯 Requirements:

• Strong proficiency in Java and core libraries.

• Experience with Kotlin (or a strong willingness to learn Kotlin quickly).

• In-depth experience with the Spring Framework (Boot, MVC, Data, Security).

• Solid understanding of RESTful API design and integration.

• Experience with database management and query optimization.

• Familiarity with Docker and Kubernetes.

• Previous experience with payment systems is a plus.

• Knowledge of Hibernate is an advantage.
