About you:
As a product manager on our Event Management team, you’ll have the opportunity to work with tens of thousands of attendees, startups, investors, partners, VIPs and speakers around the world to deliver industry-leading event software. You will partner closely with designers, engineers, and fulfilment teams to pursue and refine a product vision and strategy for Web Summit’s internal admin tools and ticketing systems
Collaborate with design and engineering to build and iterate on thoughtful user-facing software
Work closely with users, customers, and fulfilment teams to deeply understand needs and identify opportunities
Communicate articulately with team-members, peers, stakeholders, and business leadership
Own and drive the key product metrics for Attendee Experience, aligning your team’s bets and initiatives to key business outcomes
You talk to your users. We believe great software is built at the intersection of user needs and business objectives. You’re in regular contact with your users and constantly developing your understanding of their wants and needs. Your colleagues look to you to champion the user and problem space.
You communicate clearly. You spend a lot of your day talking with users, colleagues, and team members, and your conversations are efficient and articulate. When you talk about your bets, theses, or initiatives, you’re able to tell a story that brings your team along with you.
You think analytically. You have good instincts, but you validate them and pay down product risk systematically.
You empower and inspire. Empowered teams with a deep understanding of the problem are in the best position to make the most informed decisions. You champion the user needs and business objectives, but empower your team members rather than dictating to them.
You learn by iterating. You have a big vision, but you get there in small iterations and course-correct constantly as your understanding of the customer and problem space develops. You don’t bake wedding cakes without making a few cupcakes first.
