About the role
As a Senior Python Developer, you will design, develop, and deploy intelligent, AI-powered systems that support scalable, production-ready services across the platform. This role focuses on building robust service logic, exposing AI models through secure APIs, and ensuring reliable delivery of AI-driven features.
You will work closely with data scientists, engineers, and product teams in an agile environment, contributing across the full lifecycle of AI services—from development and deployment to monitoring and continuous improvement.
Responsibilities
Develop robust service logic to expose AI models via RESTful APIs using frameworks such as FastAPI or FlaskCollaborate with data scientists, engineers, and product teams to translate business requirements into technical solutionsWork within Azure cloud infrastructure, leveraging containerised environments for scalable and reliable deploymentsSupport model lifecycle management using tools such as Databricks Mosaic AI and AI Foundry, ensuring governance, traceability, and performance monitoringImplement data preprocessing pipelines and feature engineering workflowsEnsure codebases are secure, scalable, maintainable, and aligned with software engineering best practicesMonitor deployed models and services, iterating based on performance metrics, feedback, and evolving requirementsMaintain clear documentation and appropriate testing coverage for all developed componentsContribute to shared design, development, deployment, and monitoring practices within cross-functional agile teams
Requirements
Strong proficiency in Python, including object-oriented and functional programmingSolid experience building API-driven services using FastAPI or FlaskFamiliarity with data manipulation libraries such as Polars, Pandas, and NumPyExperience with model deployment and serialisation (e.g. Joblib, Pickle, TorchScript)Hands-on experience with LangChain and other open-source frameworks for AI agents and orchestration pipelinesStrong software engineering fundamentals, including Git-based version control and testing with Unittest or PytestUnderstanding of API security practices, including authentication and input validationExperience working with Azure cloud platforms and Docker-based containerisationAbility to work effectively in agile environmentsStrong communication skills and the ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams
